    Abstract: Methods and systems for automatic detection of landmarks in digital images and annotation of those images are disclosed. A method for detecting and annotating landmarks in digital images includes the steps of automatically assigning a tag descriptive of a landmark to one or more images in a plurality of text-associated digital images to generate a set of landmark-tagged images, learning an appearance model for the landmark from the set of landmark-tagged images, and detecting the landmark in a new digital image using the appearance model. The method can also include a step of annotating the new image with the tag descriptive of the landmark.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are described for estimating a camera pose. The estimation may include obtaining a sequence of images including a plurality of image frames of a scene, detecting a first set of feature points in a first image frame, and tracking the first set of feature points in a plurality of subsequent image frames. While continuing to track the first set of feature points, the estimation can include detecting a second set of feature points in a second image frame, tracking the second set of feature points, selecting a first initial camera pose associated with the first image frame and a second initial camera pose associated with the second image frame, determining projection locations, the projection locations based on the first initial camera pose and the second initial camera pose, and comparing the projection locations corresponding to each feature point in the first and second sets of feature points.

    Abstract: Implementations generally relate to providing depth-of-field renderings. In some implementations, a method includes linearizing an image. The method further includes partitioning a depth map of the image into a plurality of depth intervals. The method further includes blurring pixels associated with each depth interval, where the pixels of each depth interval are blurred separately from the pixels of the other depth intervals. The method further includes applying at least one camera response function to the image after the pixels of the plurality of depth intervals are blurred.

    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to capturing panoramic images using a computing device. For example, the computing device may record a set of video frames and tracking features each including one or more features that appear in two or more video frames of the set of video frames within the set of video frames may be determined. A set of frame-based features based on the displacement of the tracking features between two or more video frames of the set of video frames may be determined by the computing device. A set of historical feature values based on the set of frame-based features may also be determined by the computing device. The computing device may determine then whether a user is attempting to capture a panoramic image based on the set of historical feature values. In response, the computing device may capture a panoramic image.
