    Abstract: Doorbell camera systems are provided that can include a doorbell camera subsystem and a chime subsystem. The doorbell camera subsystem may include, among other features, a camera module and a doorbell button. The chime subsystem may include, among other features, a battery and electronics that interface with a chime such as existing doorbell chime or a speaker. The battery is co-located with the chime subsystem and away from the doorbell camera subsystem. Co-locating the battery with the chime subsystem removes the battery from potentially harsh environmental conditions it would otherwise be subjected to if it was co-located with the doorbell camera subsystem.

In the second mode, one of the light source subsets is selected and driven by a second drive voltage that is lower than the first dive voltage.

The camera includes a first mode in which the light sources are electrically coupled in series to form a string and driven by a boosted drive voltage, and a second mode in which one of the light source subsets is selected and driven by a regular drive voltage that is lower than the boosted drive voltage.
