摘要: A network entity may dynamically control Quality-of-Service (QoS) for a multicast transmission in a wireless communications system, by initiating a multicast transmission having an initial QoS, and later during the multicast transmission, generating an updated QoS for the multicast transmission. The network entity may generate the updated QoS in response to a network load factor for a multicast area aggregated from base stations in the area. The network load factor may indicate a measure of aggregate available bandwidth in the multicast area. The network entity may provide the updated QoS to mobile entities receiving the multicast transmission, which may process a subsequent portion of multicast content according to the updated QoS.

摘要: Methods and apparatuses are provided that include counting devices for broadcast data services. The devices can be counted based on registrations received from the devices. This registration count can additionally or alternatively be used to determine whether further counting is desired. In addition, base stations can transmit counting requests to the devices using a paging message or other message such that idle mode devices can receive the counting requests. The idle mode devices can respond to the requests or send autonomous counting report by switching to an active mode for the purpose of responding or another purpose.

摘要: Techniques are provided for a dynamic adaptive streaming proxy for unicast or broadcast/multicast service. For example, a method for controlling an encoding format of multimedia content for a multimedia client of a wireless communications network (WCN) includes modifying, at a proxy component of the WCN network entity, a data structure that associates one or more different locators for multimedia content with respective different encoding formats for the multimedia content, to obtain a modified data structure. The method may include controlling an encoding format for the multimedia content provided to at least one multimedia client, at least in part by the modified data structure.

摘要: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for non-optimized handoffs for wireless communication. For example, the disclosure may be applied to enhance non-optimized handoff from a long-term evolution (LTE) network to an evolved high rate packet data (eHRPD) network. Systems, methods, and apparatus for reducing the interruption gap during handoffs from an LTE radio access network to an eHRPD network are also discussed. In one aspect, a method is provided for communicating information associated with a handoff of a wireless device from a source network to a target network. The method includes fetching a context for a device communicating via a first radio access system of a first network based in part on a unique identifier from a second radio access system of a second network.

The method also include connecting to the second network based on the context created with the first network and while maintaining at least a partial context with the first network.
