摘要:
An armor system for protecting a vehicle from a projectile, the projectile having an expected trajectory, is disclosed. The armor system has a material capable of being detonated and configured to substantially retain a shape, wherein the material leads a vehicle exterior surface relative to the expected projectile trajectory. The material has a dimensional thickness that is greater than a minimum detonation thickness of the material.

In one aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a blast-resistant armored land vehicle. Wheels or tracks may be attached to the vehicle by an independent suspension. The vehicle may include a body comprised of sheet materials, the body having a longitudinal centerline, an upper portion including opposite side portions, a first bottom portion defining a V, with the apex of the V substantially parallel to the longitudinal centerline of the vehicle and extending along a portion of the vehicle, and a second bottom portion defining a V, with the apex of the V substantially parallel to the longitudinal centerline of the vehicle and extending along another portion of the vehicle. The first bottom portion further includes an energy-absorbing member extending longitudinally within an interior of the first bottom portion. The energy-absorbing member may be on the inside of the apex of the V and be held in position during the blast by its own inertia. The vehicle may also include a spine member having a V shaped cross section and extending along the entire length of the vehicle. All or a portion of the engine, transmission, and drive train assembly may be within the spine member. A vehicle not having a second bottom portion may be retrofitted with the second bottom portion by way of a kit.

The present disclosure is directed to a blast-resistant armored land vehicle configured to operate on a surface. The vehicle may include a body comprised of sheet materials, the body having a centerline and a bottom portion. The vehicle may further include a grid portion suspended below the bottom portion, the grid portion including one or more slats on each side of the centerline, wherein the one or more slats are oriented at an angle less than 90 degrees relative to the surface. Alternatively, the grid portion may include one or more vanes, each of the one of more vanes defining a V, with the apex of the V being rounded and directed towards the bottom portion.

In one aspect, a network system includes a user interface which allows a user to interact with the network system. An agent server is coupled to the user interface. The agent server manages the operation of the network system. Furthermore, the agent server in conjunction with the user interface is operable to create or modify an agent in response to interaction by the user. In another aspect, a network system includes an agent server which manages the operation of the network system. An agent is operable to utilize a service within the network system. A service wrapper, associated with the service, cooperates with the agent server to mediate interaction between the service and the agent.

A system and method for increasing the horsepower and torque provided by an internal combustion engine involve the use of a vortex tube to provide cooled air to the air intake of the engine. The system utilizes a source of compressed air such as provided by a compressor and air tank. The compressed air is injected into the vortex tube producing a heated stream of air and a cooled stream of air. The cooled stream of air is directed into the intake of the engine. The system enhances the air flow and drops the induction air temperature into the engine. An air valve may be used to control the flow of compressed air into the vortex tube.

A dual-axes position sensor 10 having an outer housing 12, an actuator 40, a linear Hall effect sensor assembly 20 for detecting position changes along a first (y) axis, and a linear Hall effect sensor assembly 30 for detecting position changes along a second (x) axis is disclosed. The housing 12 is preferably made out of a non-magnetic material such as plastic. Actuator 40 is rod shaped and coupled to a movable device or shaft (not shown) that is to have its position sensed. The linear Hall effect sensor assembly 20 is unattachably positioned to set on lip 52 of the housing 12, and includes a magnetically conducting pole piece 26, a magnet assembly 24 comprising an upper magnet 21 and a lower magnet 23 that are separated by an air gap 25. Magnet assembly 24 and pole piece 26 are positioned around a Hall sensor device support 14 in a“U” shaped configuration or form. Hall sensor device support 14 is fixedly attached to housing 12 via attachment area 54. Linear Hall effect sensor assembly 20 also includes a positionally fixed Hall effect sensor element 22 attached to Hall sensor device support 14 on surface 15. Linear Hall effect sensor assembly 30 is positioned approximately 90 degrees from and to linear Hall effect sensor assembly 20.
