Abstract: Aircraft, vision sensor systems, and methods of operating deployable vision systems are provided. An aircraft includes a fuselage and a vision sensor system. The fuselage defines an outer mold line and the vision sensor system includes a housing and a vision sensor package. The housing is selectively deployable between a retracted position and a deployed position and is disposed within the outer mold line in the retracted position and outside of the outer mold line in the deployed position. The vision sensor package is associated with the housing and is positioned to collect imaging information when the housing is in the deployed position.

Abstract: An aircraft data network is provided that can include a first Remote Data Concentrator (RDC), a network switch and a second RDC. The first RDC can receive one or more input signals comprising data from a transmitting system, and translate the data per a network protocol to generate translated data having a format in accordance with the network protocol. The network switch can receive the translated data from the first RDC, determine a destination for at least some of the translated data, and route at least some of the translated data toward a first receiving system. The second RDC can receive at least some of the translated data from the network switch, convert at least some of the translated data to generate converted data having a format designed for use by the first receiving system, and communicate the converted data to the first receiving system.

Abstract: A standby flight display system for use on an aircraft is disclosed herein. The aircraft has a primary flight display system that is configured to display a first image on a primary flight display screen. The standby flight display system includes a subsystem configured to determine a dynamic state of the aircraft. The standby flight display system further includes an image generator. The standby flight display system still further includes a processing unit. The subsystem, the image generator, and the processing unit are each independent of the primary flight display system. The processing unit is communicatively coupled with the subsystem and with the image generator and is configured to receive information from the subsystem relating to the dynamic state of the aircraft and to control the image generator to generate a second image overlaying the first image on the primary flight display screen.
