摘要： A display substrate includes a base substrate, color filter layers, a bottom supporting layer and a light-blocking and maintaining element. The base substrate includes a gate line, a data line crossing the gate line, and a switching element on the base substrate. The color filter layers are adjacent to each other on the base substrate. The bottom supporting layer is between the color filter layers adjacent to each other and on the base substrate. The light-blocking and maintaining element is between the color filter layers adjacent to each other, and on the bottom supporting layer. The light-blocking and maintaining element includes a light blocking portion, and a maintaining portion which overlaps the bottom supporting layer and protrudes from the light blocking portion.

摘要： A manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display includes: forming a thin film transistor on a first substrate; forming a color filter on the thin film transistor; forming a pixel electrode on the color filter; and forming a light blocking member including a column spacer protruded from the light blocking member on the color filter. The forming the light blocking member uses a mask including a first region, a second region, and a third region. The first region passes light generated from a light exposer, the second region includes a blocking filter layer which selectively passes the light generated from the light exposer, and the third region blocks the light generated from the light exposer.

A second substrate is formed, and a liquid crystal layer is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The black column spacer is formed by coating a photoresist on the first substrate, exposing the photoresist to a first light, developing the exposed photoresist and exposing the developed photoresist to a second light.

The first spacer and the second spacer can include a black pigment.
