    摘要： Disclosed herein is a fast data call connection method capable of reducing a connection time and increasing the probability of connection success in a CDMA 2000 network.In the fast data call connection method of the present invention, the PDSN transmits a data call connection request message, including an authentication type and a challenge value, to the MS. The MS transmits a data call connection response message, including a response to the challenge value, to the PDSN. The PDSN performs authentication with reference to the data call connection response message, and transmits a data call connection complete message to the MS if authentication succeeds. Accordingly, the present invention is advantageous in that it can reduce connection time, can increase the probability of connection success, and can guarantee compatibility by checking the MS version before a data call connection process is executed.

    摘要： Disclosed is a method and a system for providing a terminal-based ringback tone substitute service, as well as a mobile communication terminal for the same. The method includes the steps of (a) receiving a request for an originating call for voice communication with a called terminal from a calling terminal; (b) transmitting a ringback tone start message to the calling terminal, the ringback tone start message being a control message informative of beginning of a ringback tone section; (c) paging the called terminal; (d) transmitting a ringback tone termination message to the calling terminal, the ringback tone termination message being a control message informative of ending of the ringback tone section, and connecting the voice communication between the calling terminal and the called terminal when a response to paging is received from the called terminal; and (e) transmitting the ringback tone termination message to the calling terminal and transmitting unanswered messages to the calling terminal when no response to the paging is received from the called terminal. The mobile communication terminal can play a high-quality ringback tone substitute without being affected by the voice channel environment.

    摘要： Disclosed is a method for controlling a terminal for a multimedia Ring Back Tone (RBT) service, which allows RBT sound sources previously set in a sound source-providing server by a called subscriber to be reproduced to an originating terminal by means of a Home Location Register (HLR) and the sound source-providing server for storing the RBT sound sources when a calling subscriber telephones the called subscriber, the HLR storing profile information including whether the subscriber has joined the RBT service. The method includes the steps of: (a) receiving a codec setup message including information (multimedia codec information) regarding a multimedia codec from a switching center; (b) deactivating a decoding function of a voice codec; (c) activating a decoding function of the multimedia codec; (d) receiving the RBT sound sources; and (e) decoding the RBT sound sources through the multimedia codec and reproducing the decoded RBT sound sources.
