Abstract: A method is provided of allocating reward in a system that provides user access to multiple information resources including reward-associated information resources such as advertiser websites accessed through banner ads on a website controlled by the system operator. The method involves detecting user access to any of the reward-associated information resources, and thereupon making a random determination of the period of time a user must use the accessed resource before being entitled to a reward. The reward can, for example, be credit against further use of the system.
