    Abstract: Example implementations relate to an electronic port of a computing system, having a locking assembly to secure an electronic plug within the electronic port. The electronic port includes a receptacle, a bracket, a biasing member, and a fastener. The receptacle includes a plurality of retainers to releasably hold a connector of the electronic plug, when the electronic plug is detachably coupled to the electronic port. The bracket is disposed around the receptacle. The bracket has a plurality of locking elements and a pillar having a counter bore. The plurality of locking elements is aligned with the plurality of retainers. The fastener is projected into the pillar through an enclosure, where the fastener is fastened into the counter bore of the pillar to allow a vertical movement of the bracket along a first direction for engaging the plurality of locking elements with the plurality of retainers.

    Abstract: Example implementations relate to an electronic plug having a locking assembly for securing within an electronic port having a receptacle. The locking assembly includes a cantilever beam, a deformable arm, and an axle rotatably coupled to a connector of the electronic plug. The cantilever beam extends from the axle, where a free end of the cantilever beam includes a locking tab aligned to a recess of the connector. The deformable arm extends from the axle, where an open end of the deformable arm is rested on the connector. In a biased state of the deformable arm, the locking tab is positioned below the recess to allow movement of the connector in and out of the receptacle. In a relaxed state of the deformable arm, the locking tab protrudes above the recess to allow movement of the connector into the receptacle and prevent movement of the connector out of the receptacle.

    Abstract: A technique and corresponding device to provide for a floating heat sink is disclosed. The technique includes a method that allows for insertion of an electronic component (e.g., an optical transceiver) into a cage that has a pre-installed heatsink. At the beginning phases of insertion, no friction is present between the electronic component and the heatsink. At or very near an insertion end phase (the electronic component is almost fully inserted), an actuator (e.g., roller or button) is impacted to impart a pivot motion via a lever arm to cause lowering of the heatsink toward the electronic component. A thermal interface material (TIM) may therefore be present to establish a thermal coupling between the heatsink and the electronic component. The TIM and heatsink contact the electronic component via a downward motion (caused by the pivot) to provide a nearly frictionless sliding impact to the TIM.

    Abstract: An example mounting system for attaching an electronic device, such as a wireless access point, to a structure, such as a drop ceiling rail. The mounting system includes a bracket assembly and a device brace. The bracket assembly includes a first bracket and a second bracket that are separate from one another, each including a bottom flange and a top flange that forms a groove, the first bracket including a retention clip. The device brace is attachable to the electronic device and includes two grooves. The mounting system is tool-lessly attachable to the rail by: sliding the grooves of the first and second brackets onto flanges of the rail, sliding the second bracket into engagement with the retention clip such that the retention clip holds the first and second brackets together on the rail, and sliding the grooves of the device brace onto the bottom flanges of the first and second brackets such that the bracket assembly supports the device brace.

    Abstract: A technique and corresponding device to provide for a floating heat sink is disclosed.
