Abstract:
A locking structure for a saddle type vehicle to prevent theft and achieve a tamper-proofing effect while securing a storage space in a vehicle body. A front cover is provided with a storage part which is openably closed with a lid. The lid is lockable into a closed state or unlockable from the closed state by means of a lid lock mechanism. A main seat is lockable into an engaged state with seat rails or unlockable from the engaged state by means of a seat lock mechanism. At least one of the lid lock mechanism and the seat lock mechanism is connected to a key cylinder by a first cable and a second cable. The key cylinder overlaps a steering shaft in a side view, and is located within an opening provided in an inner cover, which is a component of the front cover, in a top plan view.
Abstract:
A foot pedal structure for a saddle-type vehicle for preventing peripheral components in the periphery of a brake pedal from being damaged even though the brake pedal and the peripheral components are not widely spaced from each other. A brake pedal includes at least an arm extending in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle from a step support member and a pedal member mounted on a distal end of the arm and extending in a vehicle widthwise direction. An upward extension in the form of a plate member extends upwardly from a treading surface of the pedal member and is disposed on an inner end of the pedal member in the vehicle widthwise direction.
Abstract:
A straddle type vehicle includes a body cover having a side cover including a front member which covers a side of an engine, an upper member which covers a side of an area above the front member and of an area above and behind the front member and forward of a seat, and a rear member which covers an area below a side of the seat. The side cover is fastened to a body frame through a front fastening portion, a rear fastening portion, and an intermediate fastening portion positioned between the front and rear fastening portions. A shroud is arranged at a front portion of the side cover. The shroud includes an inner shroud supported by the body frame, and an outer shroud supported by the side cover. In such straddle type vehicle, the shroud can be fastened to a body frame through less number of fastening points.
Abstract:
A front cowl structure for a saddle riding type vehicle, capable of containing a stick phenomenon of an airflow in the front cowl. A pair of headlights is disposed on leading end lateral sides of a front cowl. Each of the headlights has a lens surface that includes at least a part formed to face downwardly. A front cowl structure has headlight neighboring openings formed on sides in a vehicle rearward of the lens surface, the headlight neighboring openings communicating with an inside of the front cowl.
Abstract:
A front cowl structure for a saddle riding type vehicle for preventing turbulence in a stream of air flowing over a front cowl surface. The front cowl structure includes a duct placed inside a front cowl with a duct opening that opens to the front of the vehicle. The front cowl has a cowl front surface opening at a leading end portion thereof for opening a cowl front surface. Headlights are disposed on both lateral sides of the cowl front surface opening with each having a lens surface. The lens surfaces form opening edge portions on both lateral sides of the cowl front surface opening. The lens surfaces are each inclined to a vehicle outer side and rearwardly from the opening edge portions. The duct opening and a cowl opening central portion of the cowl front surface opening are substantially aligned with each other in a vehicle longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
A side cover structure for enhancing the external appearance and turning performance of a saddle-ride-type vehicle. A side cover structure of a saddle-ride-type vehicle includes a head pipe with a frame extending rearwardly from the head pipe. Side covers cover the frame from left and right sides. A bent portion is bent toward the outside in a vehicle width direction from a base portion and is formed on the side cover. An opening is formed in the base plate portion positioned in the vicinity of the bent portion.
Abstract:
A glove compartment includes a case main body; a lid body connected to the case main body by a hinge; and a lock mechanism locking the lid body to the case main body at a closed position relative to the case main body. The lock mechanism includes a fixation claw fixed to the lid body; and a movable claw slidably attached to the case main body. When the movable claw is located in an engagement position engaged with the fixation claw, the lid body is locked to the case main body. When the movable claw slidingly moves to a release position disengaging from the fixation claw, the lid body can be opened. A shielding wall is provided, which partially shields the movable claw relative to an outside when the lid body is located at the closed position, so as to prevent a theft of housed articles.
Abstract:
A storage structure for a saddle-ride type vehicle to enable an item to be easily stored in or retrieved from a storage portion to improve handleability of the storage portion. The storage portion includes an opening provided at a position shifted to one or each side of a front cover in a left-right direction with a recess portion being concave downwardly from the opening to form a storage space. A lid is provided for covering the opening of the recess portion openably and closably. The lid is attached to an upper wall portion defining the recess portion, openably and closably via a hinge.
