Abstract:
A system, for linearizing an output signal derived from a condition sensing device wherein the reciprocal of the sensor resistance, i.e., the conductance of the sensor, varies linearly according to the changes in the sensed condition, comprises an amplifier having two input terminals and an output terminal, a constant voltage source connected to one of said input terminals, a condition sensing device of the aforesaid nature connected to the other of the input terminals, and a feedback resistor connected between the output terminal and the input terminal to which is connected the condition sensing device such that the amplifier supplies a substantially constant voltage to the humidity sensing device and varies its output in accordance with the linear conductance change of the sensor.
Abstract:
A temperature sensing switching circuit producing a high frequency output signal indicative of the ambient temperature of a temperature responsive resistance element, having a large change in resistance over a small change in temperature. The switching circuit controls a feedback heater for artifically heating the resistance element to produce the small change in temperature to reverse the operation of the switching circuit. The repeated switching of said switching circuit provides an output signal which has a frequency indicative of the ambient temperature.
Abstract:
Electronic temperature control apparatus having a temperature responsive resistance space thermostat connected to an amplifier circuit for providing an output to control a modulating multistage controller adapted to control stages of heating and cooling apparatus. An outdoor temperature responsive resistance compensating thermostat is connected to the amplifier circuit for modifying the control effect of the space thermostat. The outdoor thermostat is connected through a first diode to provide compensation when the system is used for heating and through a second diode reversely connected when the system is used for cooling to selectively isolate the output of the outdoor thermostat from modifying the space thermostat control of either the heating and the cooling apparatus. Errors due to diode voltage drops and diode voltage drifts with temperature are eliminated.
