    Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a movable member which supports an imaging device, a supporter which supports the movable member in a manner to allow the movable member to spherically swing about a swing center on an optical axis of an optical system of the imaging device, and a driver which drives the movable member to perform an image-stabilizing operation. The supporter includes supported surfaces on the movable member at different circumferential positions, and support surfaces provided on the stationary member at different circumferential positions in the initial state, the supported surfaces being in slidable contact with the support surfaces. Each support surface defines a cylindrical surface having a central axis through the swing center in a direction orthogonal to the optical axis in the initial state, the cylinder having substantially the same radius as that of the spherical surface of an associated supported surface.

    Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a front lens group having a front lens element and a reflector; a support member supporting the reflector; a support mechanism supporting the movable frame, supporting the front lens element, to spherically swing about a center positioned on an extension of the front lens element optical axis behind a reflection surface of the reflector; and a permanent magnet and a coil as an actuator which performs image stabilization by driving the movable frame in response to vibrations to spherically swing the movable frame. The permanent magnet and the coil planarly extend parallel to tangent planes, tangent to imaginary spheres centered about the center, respectively. Any normal to the tangent plane of the permanent magnet is inclined to the optical axis of the front lens element such that a distance between the normal and the optical axis increases in a direction toward the object side.

    Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes a movable member supporting an imaging device; a stationary member supporting the movable member to allow the movable member to spherically swing about a point on an optical axis of the imaging device; first and second actuators which apply two driving forces to the movable member in different tilting directions to vary an inclination of the optical axis; and a third actuator which applies a driving force to the movable member in a rotational direction about the optical axis. The first, second and third actuators are provided as three separate actuators installed at intervals in a circumferential direction about the optical axis, in an initial state of the movable member in the spherical-swinging operation relative to the stationary member.
