摘要: A method comprises applying to a substrate a layer of substantially clear solvent-based printer fluid. The printer fluid comprises an ultraviolet light absorbing substance. The method comprises irradiating the applied layer of printer fluid with an ultraviolet light to heat the solvent and cause evaporation of the solvent. The waveband of the radiation is such that heating of the solvent is substantially due to heat transfer from the ultraviolet light absorbing substance in the printing fluid.

Methods of drying print agent 40 on a substrate 14 are also disclosed, including a method comprising: causing the substrate 14 to vibrate to dissociate a boundary layer of print agent 40 on the substrate 14; and heating the print agent 40 to dry the print agent 40.

摘要: In certain examples described herein, a depositing mechanism performs an overcoat depositing operation. The depositing mechanism comprises a plurality of print head arrays. Each print head array is arrangeable in a deposit position to deposit an overcoat layer onto a substrate and a service position to enable servicing to be performed. In certain cases, an array controller causes at least one print head array of the plurality of print head arrays to be moved periodically from the deposit position to the service position according to a predefined servicing sequence during an ongoing overcoat depositing operation performed by the depositing mechanism.
