Provided is a method of printing a pattern on a non-active area of a display device. The method includes (a) performing an inkjet printing process on a foreground color layer and (b) performing a screen-printing process on a background color layer. In the method of printing the decoration pattern on the not-active area of the display device according to the present invention, the foreground color layer with respect to the decoration pattern of the display device may be printed in the inkjet manner to simply easily uniformly realize the high resolution image having the high quality of color.

The present disclosure is related to an apparatus for a flexographic printing process with wet on wet capability based on controlled polymer or polymer segment precipitation that leads to gel formation of ink compounds by controlling the solubility parameter of the ink system. Insoluble segments in the ink form a reversible gel that is broken to a liquid by heat and/or shear forces during the application process, allowing application of a liquid ink. After application, the ink reverts to its gel state with such strength as to allow overprinting in the wet on wet flexographic printing process. The disclosure is also related to a flexographic printing apparatus comprising a feeding system for providing a flexographic ink, wherein the ink in a liquid state has a viscosity ranging from about 100 cps to about 4,000 cps, and the ink in a gel state has a measurable hardness.

A flexographic printing ink for use in a flexographic printing process with wet on wet capability, comprising a polymer and a combination of liquids comprising radiation curable monomers and/or oligomers, diluents, colorants, additives, and photoinitiators, the components having the Hansen Solubility Parameters adjusted to generate an ink with a capability to form a gel having the required physical characteristics, and that is in a liquid form in the presence of a small quantity of non reactive solvent, or is brought to a liquid state during the printing process. Abstract:
A process of printing applies printing ink to the surface of a product of thermoplastic rubber compounds containing upwards of 95% mineral oil. The process uses ink compositions of resins, mineral oil, solvents, colorants, and additives. The process involves preparing a product from copolymer resins and other components, and blending an ink from copolymer resins and other components. Next, the process prints the desired multi-color image on the treated surface followed with a top coat on the surface of the substrate to protect the printed image. The top coat and ink stretch with the product so that the image remains intact. The process uses pad printing to print the image upon the surface of the product.

In a printing press and attached onto the transfer cylinders, an anti-marking system that uniformly supports the transport and the release of the wet printed sheet from one station to the next. The anti-marking sheet consists of a two plus layer system, the outer layer being a textured surface and the inner layer being a microcellular material that is both compressible and resilient. The outer textured layer may be treated with either conductive/anti-static layers or an ink repellent layer or both. The two plus layer system is easily attached to both transfer cylinders and tracking/skeleton wheels using any combination of fixtures from Velcro™, magnetic, metallic, and pressure sensitive double sided tape to elastic loops.

This invention relates to the printing of a substrate having a pre-printed “print pattern” with a “design layer” of ink where there is differential adhesion within and without the print pattern. The print pattern is receptive to an ink, and the design layer ink forms a durable image material with good bond to the print pattern, but the ink does not form a durable image material on the portions of the substrate outside the print pattern. The design layer ink is a UV-curable ink, and the print pattern may have a higher surface energy than the portions of the substrate outside the print pattern.

According to some embodiments, a method for printing an image on a substrate includes applying a clear liftoff material to a surface of the substrate to form a sacrificial pattern, the clear liftoff material being substantially optically clear, and applying a first marking material to the surface of the substrate to form a first static pattern, a portion of the first static pattern arranged directly above a portion of the sacrificial pattern. The method further includes removing the portion of the first static pattern from the surface of the substrate, and removing the sacrificial pattern from the surface of the substrate.

The present invention refers to a “Method for pasty ink flexography printing associated to ink load variation due to thermal modulation” developed to allow a novel printing technology in central drum flexography equipments with high viscosity inks and 100% solids with later UV radiation (UV) or electron beam (EB) curing. The invention provides a central drum flexographic printing system which by means of modifications in the inking systems allows applying high viscosity inks with no intermediate drying or curing system between the successive appliance of several colors having only the final drying with a curing device, preferably based on electron beam or optionally by actinic radiation (UV light).
