Abstract: A character string display method and a terminal device, where the method includes processing, by a terminal device, at least two control regions based on control information to form at least two reset control regions satisfying a first target condition, where the first target condition includes that any two neighboring reset control regions in the at least two reset control regions in a landscape direction of the display are coupled, and displaying a character string in any one of the at least two reset control regions. Hence, a length of the reset control region is greater than a length of the control region, and a length of a character string displayed in the reset control region is greater than a length of a character string displayed in the control region.
