The technology of this application relates to a flow characteristic extraction method and apparatus, and belongs to the field of network technologies. The method includes a network device that determines a burst parameter of a burst traffic segment of a received first packet flow, and determines a burst parameter of the first packet flow based on the burst parameter of the burst traffic segment of the first packet flow. The first packet flow is an elephant flow, the burst traffic segment indicates a burst degree of traffic within one period of time, the burst parameter of the burst traffic segment is a parameter used to describe the burst traffic segment, and the burst parameter of the first packet flow is a parameter used to describe at least one burst traffic segment included in the first packet flow.

The present invention provides a virtual machine migration method, a switch, a virtual machine system. A switch receives a message sent by a server, where the message is used to enable the switch to discover a connected virtual machine interface; obtains, from the message, an identifier for indicating whether a virtual machine is migrated; and determines whether the virtual machine is a virtual machine migrated to the server according to the identifier indicating whether the virtual machine is migrated. According to the embodiments of the present invention, it may be determined whether an added virtual machine on a server is a newly created one or a migrated one.
Abstract:
A service flow scheduling method and apparatus, and a system. When transmission quality of a service flow with a higher priority does not meet a service level requirement corresponding to the service flow, a first network device adjusts, to a first threshold, a transmission rate threshold of an HQoS model for a service flow with a lower priority, where the first threshold is less than a current data transmission rate of the service flow with a lower priority. By performing traffic shaping on the service flow with a lower priority, a bandwidth resource of a downlink port of the first network device may give way to the service flow with a higher priority, to ensure that the service flow with a higher priority meets the service level requirement of the service flow with a higher priority.
