Abstract: The present invention relates to a network entity for a communication network for providing a plurality of communication services to a plurality of mobile communication devices, the network entity comprising: a session manager configured to select a first geographical code from a plurality of geographical codes, wherein each geographical code is associated with a geographical region and wherein the first geographical code is associated with a first geographical region including or close to a current geographical position of at least one of the plurality of mobile communication devices; a encoder configured to encode on a MAC level and/or physical level at least a portion of a message intended for the at least one mobile communication device using the first geographical code; and a communication interface configured to send the message with the portion encoded with the first geographical code to the at least one mobile communication device.

Abstract: A relay device for operating in a communication system that comprises at least two individual networks. The networks may be “individual” in the sense that they are different from each other. Different networks comprise different functionalities. In particular, different networks will tend to operate in different spectrum, have separate authorization and/or authentication procedures and/or apply different transmission technologies. Each network comprises a network device and a remote device that are configured to wirelessly transfer data between them. The relay device is configured to receive data transmitted by a device in a first one of the networks over a first section of radio spectrum. It is also configured to transmit that data to a device in a second one of the networks over a second section of radio spectrum that is different from the first section of radio spectrum.

Abstract: A method for executing multipath communication at a target communication device, includes obtaining, from a source communication device, plurality of data packets via two or more different paths, where header of each data packet comprises packet information which is indicative of association among the plurality of data packets. The packet information in each data packet at source communication device is same as packet information in each data packet at target communication device irrespective of different radio access technologies, communication protocols, or radio links used in the two or more different paths. The plurality of data packets includes different data packets having different payload or duplicate data packets having a copy of same payload. The method further includes identifying first set of data packets received via first path and second set of data packets received via second path based on the packet information.

Abstract: A device is provided for operating in a communication system that comprises a plurality of individual networks. The device comprises one or more subscriber modules for assisting the device to attach to a network. The number of those one or more subscriber modules is fewer than the number of the plurality of networks. The device being configured to initiate a pre-attach procedure to attach itself to all of the plurality of networks before it establishes a connection with one of those networks. It is also configured to connect to one of the plurality of networks for communicating data with that network while remaining attached to the others of the plurality of networks. The advantage of a device that pre-attaches to more than one network is that it significantly reduces the time needed for the device to switch later from being connected to one network to another network.
