Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a packet transmission method and a related apparatus. The method includes: A network device receives a request message from a terminal device, where the request message includes a first field, the first field indicates identity information of the terminal device, and the request message is used to request the terminal device to establish a communication connection to the network device; and the network device sends a notification message to a management platform, where the notification message includes a second field, the second field indicates the terminal device, and the notification message indicates the management platform to establish a communication connection to an application server. Fields with specific meanings and the management platform are introduced to effectively resolve a problem of access conflict between devices from a plurality of vendors and implement interconnection between the devices from the plurality of vendors.
