Abstract: Example communication methods and apparatus are described. One example method includes receiving first information from a first device, where the first information indicates N moments and location information of the first device at the N moments. The first device obtains second information, where the second information indicates a correspondence between the N moments and M area identifiers, or the second information indicates a correspondence between N locations and M area identifiers. According to the foregoing technical solution, the first device sends the location information of the first device at the N moments, so that the M area identifiers corresponding to the first device at the N moments or the M area identifiers corresponding to N pieces of location information can be obtained.

Abstract: The disclosure provides communication methods and apparatuses. One example method including a first access network device sends a first message to a terminal device and a second message to a core network device. The first message is used to indicate the terminal device to enter an inactive state. The second message carries context information and a first security verification parameter of the terminal device, and the first security verification parameter is used to perform security verification on the terminal device. The first access network device receives a third message from a second access network device, where the third message is used to request the context information of the terminal device. The first access network device sends a fourth message to the second access network device, where the fourth message is used to indicate the first access network device not to provide the second access network device with the context information.

Abstract: This application provides a paging method and apparatus. The method includes: A first device receives a first paging message, where the first paging message includes a first list, and the first list includes an area identifier of at least one cell. The first device determines a first cell, where an area identifier of the first cell at a first moment is different from an area identifier of the first cell at a second moment, the first moment is a current moment, and the second moment is earlier than the first moment. When the area identifier of the first cell at the first moment does not belong to the first list, the first device stops paging a terminal device in the first cell. According to the foregoing technical solutions, the first device may effectively page the terminal device, to reduce signaling overheads of the first device, and save power.

In the foregoing solution, the sub-area is introduced, and the terminal device only needs to obtain the satellite ephemeris information corresponding to the sub-area in which the terminal device is located. This reduces an amount of satellite ephemeris information obtained by the terminal device, and therefore can reduce overheads of the terminal device.
