    Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a random access method and a terminal, applied to the communication field, to improve uplink coverage in high frequency band communication systems such as 5G and 6G communication systems. The method in embodiments of this application includes: A network device configures a plurality of SULs in one cell, where the plurality of SULs are used to supplement uplink coverage of the cell; the network device sends configuration information of the plurality of SULs to a terminal device; and after receiving the configuration information, the terminal device may select one SUL used for random access from the plurality of SULs based on the configuration information. In embodiments of this application, because the cell includes the plurality of SULs, a requirement that a large quantity of terminals in the cell can access a network can be met, and a success rate of uplink random access by the plurality of terminals is improved. Embodiments of this application further provide a terminal. The terminal is configured to select a first SUL used for random access from a plurality of SULs.

    Abstract: A measurement configuration method and an apparatus are provided. The method includes: A network device sends first information to a terminal device. The first information includes configuration information of an SCC. The network device sends second information to the terminal device. The second information includes configuration information of a first measurement window, and the second information is used to enable the terminal device to switch, when supporting CA, from performing cell measurement in a measurement window-free measurement manner to performing cell measurement by using the first measurement window. A carrier included in the CA includes the SCC configured based on the first information. According to the foregoing method, after the network device configures the SCC, the terminal device may switch, based on the second information, from performing cell measurement in the measurement window-free measurement manner to performing cell measurement by using the first measurement window.

    Abstract: This specification provides a resource determining method and an apparatus, to optimize sidelink transmission performance. In this specification, a first communication apparatus may receive preferred resource information and/or non-preferred resource information, determine a transmission resource based on received resource information and a type of the first communication apparatus, and perform sidelink transmission by using the transmission resource. First resource information can indicate a high-interference or high-usage resource and/or a low-interference or low-usage resource. The first communication apparatus can select, based on the type of the first communication apparatus, a resource with relatively low interference to perform sidelink transmission. This improves sidelink transmission performance.
