    Abstract: Systems and methods for health monitoring and fault detection in power distribution networks are provided. Aspects include providing a first power supply coupled to a power channel, providing a load coupled to the power channel, providing a transmitting sensor coupled to the power channel between the first power supply and the load, providing a receiving sensor coupled to the power channel between the transmitting sensor and the load, operating the transmitting sensor to provide an AC test signal to the power channel, the AC test signal comprises a predefined test signal pattern, operating the receiving sensor to sense, from the power channel, a continuous power signal including the AC test signal, analyzing, by the controller, the AC test signal to determine a fault of the power channel based on comparing the predefined test signal pattern with a predefined nominal probe signal pattern corresponding to a specific network configuration.

    Abstract: A tunable inductor is provided including a core having a closed shape and including first through third legs. A first winding wound around the first leg is coupled to a first controller configured to provide DC power to the first winding. The first winding is configured to generate a DC flux in a DC flux path in response to the DC power, the DC flux path passing through a first magnetoelectric material coupled to the core. A second winding wound around the second leg is coupled to the first controller and is configured to generate the DC flux in response to the DC power. A third leg between the first leg and the second leg is coupled to an AC power source configured to provide AC power to the third winding. The third winding is configured to generate AC flux in an AC flux path based on the AC power.

    Abstract: An analog twin circuit device includes a sensing element and a signal conditioning circuit. The sensing element includes a signal input terminal configured to receive an input signal and a signal output terminal configured to output a signal. The signal conditioning circuit includes a first circuit input terminal connected to the signal input terminal and a second circuit input terminal connected to the signal output terminal such that the sensing element interacts directly with the input signal and delivers an output signal to the signal output terminal. The signal conditioning circuit physically models the sensing element.

    Abstract: A solid-state circuit breaker (SSCB) is provided. The SSCB includes an electrical circuit. The electrical circuit includes inductor electrical connections, a diode rectifier bridge that drives current, which enters the electrical circuit in first or second directions, across the inductor electrical connections in only one of the first direction or the second direction and an inductor. The inductor is electrically interposed between the inductor electrical connections. The inductor includes a permanent magnet arrangement configured to introduce flux pre-bias for maintaining the inductor in an out-of-saturation condition during a peak fault event.
