摘要: A compressing device for use in an environmental control system includes at least one turbine configured to provide energy by expanding one or more mediums. The one or more mediums provided at an outlet of the at least one turbine form a heat sink within the environmental control system. A compressor is configured to receive energy from the one or more mediums expanded across the at least one turbine. During a first mode of the compressing device, energy derived from a first medium and a second medium of the one or more mediums is used to compress a second medium at the compressor. During a second mode of the compressing device, energy derived from the first medium, the second medium, and a third medium of the one or more mediums is used to compress the second medium at the compressor.

The second heat exchanger is thermally coupled to a secondary system and a thermal management fluid circulates within the closed loop. A thermal storage device is arranged in fluid communication with the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger. The thermal storage device contains a material and a mode of operation of the directed energy weapon is dependent on a condition of the material in the thermal storage device.

摘要: An environmental control system of a vehicle includes a first compression device including a compressor, a first turbine, and a power turbine operably coupled by a shaft. The first turbine is configured to receive a first medium, the compressor is configured to receive a second medium, and the power turbine is configured to receive a third medium. A second compression device, separate from the first compression device, includes a second turbine. The environmental control system is operable in a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, the second medium is provided to the compressor and the second turbine sequentially. In the second mode, the second medium bypasses the second turbine. In in both the first mode and the second mode, only the second medium is provided to an outlet of the environmental control system.

The at least one compressing device includes a four-wheel compressing device having a compressor and at least one turbine operably coupled via a shaft. In a first mode of operation, the compressor is driven by the first medium, and in a second mode of operation, the compressor is driven by the third medium.

摘要: A method and system for predicting heat exchanger blockage in an aircraft is provided. The method includes generating a reduced order model (ROM) that predicts a ram air fan (RAF) surge margin that correlates to a heat exchanger blockage parameter, calculating, using the ROM, a predicted RAF surge margin value using a sensor signal received from a sensor connected to a ram air fan (RAF), calculating the heat exchanger blockage parameter using at least the predicted RAF surge margin value, and reporting, to a user, the heat exchanger blockage parameter that indicates when a heat exchanger blockage condition is present.

摘要: A defrost cycle time of an aircraft vapor cycle refrigeration system is adaptively controlled. A pressure of refrigerant at an inlet of a compressor of the vapor cycle refrigeration system is sensed. A defrost cycle of the vapor cycle refrigeration system is initiated in response to the sensed pressure being less than a threshold pressure. The defrost cycle is terminated upon expiration of the defrost cycle time. The defrost cycle time is based upon a time duration of the cooling cycle.
