摘要: The invention concerns an input device including an input receiving panel and a stylus enabling an input, the input device sensing an input by means of capacitive coupling between a panel electrode on the input receiving panel and a stylus electrode on the stylus, and includes: a signal supply section supplying an input sensing signal to the panel electrode; a signal detecting circuit detecting a signal generated in the stylus electrode; and an input sensing section comparing the input sensing signal with the detection signal detected by the signal detecting circuit and sensing an input based on a result of the comparison. An input-sensing digital code is superimposed on the input sensing signal. This allows for further reduction in the possibility of false sensing caused by noise than conventional techniques.

摘要: A liquid crystal display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display panel, a backlight system, a driving circuit board for driving the liquid crystal display panel and the backlight system, and a housing for housing the foregoing members. A metal plate is provided between the backlight system and the driving circuit board, which metal plate has a plane surface on a front and back surface which is broader than the backlight system and the driving circuit board. On at least a pair of opposed edges of the metal plate, at least one of a falling portion and a rising portion is provided along the edges of the metal plate. Further, a bezel is provided between the housing and at least one of the falling portion and rising portion, which bezel is arranged so as to integrally support the metal plate and at least the liquid crystal display panel and the backlight system. Hence, a liquid crystal display apparatus and an electronic apparatus including same are provided, which liquid crystal display apparatus is capable of reducing a possibility of breakage due to load placed on a display surface of the liquid crystal display panel or an impact when dropped.

摘要: A liquid crystal display in which a reference signal main line, placed so as to connect reference signal lines to each other, is separated into an input main line and an output main line in an insulating state from each other. Then, a voltage application line from a voltage-application circuit for controlling the voltage of a reference signal is connected to the input main line and a voltage feedback line therefrom is connected to the output main line. Thus, it becomes possible to accurately detect minute voltage variations within a reference signal circuit and compensate for them.

摘要: A display apparatus includes a liquid crystal display panel, a front side viscoelastic layer, a front side hard layer, a back side viscoelastic layer, a back side hard layer, a backlight unit, a driving circuit board, and a metal plate. The front side viscoelastic layer that is viscoelastic covers a display surface of the liquid crystal display panel. The front side hard layer has a higher modulus of elasticity than the front side viscoelastic layer. The back side viscoelastic layer that is viscoelastic covers a back surface of the liquid crystal display panel. The back side hard layer has a higher modulus of elasticity than the back side viscoelastic layer. The back side viscoelastic layer has a thickness Tb of not less than about 20 μm, and the front side viscoelastic layer has a thickness Ta and satisfies: Ta/Tb>1 (Tb≠0). Thus, the display apparatus is resistant to breakage caused by a load placed on a display surface of the liquid crystal display panel and an impact when dropped, thereby attaining mechanical durability.

摘要: It is an object of the invention to reduce a leakage low-frequency electric field from a panel section of a matrix type. In the case where a panel section has a usual current structure in which the panel section has a single common electrode elongating over the whole of the display region of the panel section, the maximum voltage difference of a reference signal supplied to the common electrode is defined to be 0.3678×x−0.6136 (wherein x is the area of the display region) or less. In the case where the panel section has the so-called counter source structure and a plurality of column electrodes, the maximum voltage difference of a reference signal supplied to the column electrodes is defined to be ax−b (wherein a=0.3565×y−0.6829, b=−0.0937y+0.7091, and y is a ratio of the area of all the column electrodes to the area of the display region) or less. In the case where a panel section has the counter source structure, the average area per unit length of one part of the column electrode opposed to a signal line is smaller than the average area per unit length of the remaining part of the column electrode other than the one part.

摘要: Input position is accurately detected. In an x-detection period of a non-display period, a source drive circuit simultaneously applies to all signal wiring lines a pulse of a peak value proportional to a distance from a gate drive circuit. A coordinate detection circuit obtains an x-coordinate on the basis of a voltage induced at a pen corresponding to the peak value (x-coordinate) of the applied pulse. In a y-detection period, a pulse generation circuit applies one pulse to a common line. The pen detects a potential variation in amplitude proportional to a distance (y-coordinate) from the source drive circuit, generated approximately simultaneously on all the signal wiring lines via a capacitance. The coordinate detection circuit obtains the y-coordinate similarly to the case of x-coordinate detection.

摘要: A display device is arranged in such a manner that rows on the screen on which pixel electrodes are provided in a matrix manner are sequentially selected so as to be scanned by scanning signal lines formed on a substrate, and a data signal is supplied from gray scale signal lines, which are formed on a counter substrate facing the substrate, to the pixel electrodes on the selected row, so that the display is carried out. Also, an idle period, (i) which is longer than a scanning period for scanning the screen once and (ii) during which period all scanning signal lines are in the state of non-scanning, is provided, and the scanning period and the idle period constitute one vertical period. With this arrangement, it is possible to (1) provide a driving method of a display device by which method the reduction of power consumption is sufficiently realized without causing the degradation of the display qualities, and (2) provide a display device using the same.

摘要: As a method of driving a liquid crystal display device, the average voltage of reference line drive voltages Vcom for AC-driving a liquid crystal is set higher than the average voltage of signal line drive voltage V0. Moreover, when displaying a plurality of gray scales, the respective voltages are set so that the average voltage of the signal line drive voltages is lowered with a decrease in a voltage difference to be applied to the liquid crystal as an absolute value. In a liquid crystal display device of an opposing signal line structure, a high-quality image display is achieved by compensating for the non-symmetry of the transmissivity of the liquid crystal with respect to positive and negative drive voltages to prevent flickering and image persistence.
