A correction amount of a position for image writing to a photosensitive drum is determined based on the paper transport position, and correction of the image writing position is performed based on the correction amount. Image forming on the sheet of paper is performed at the image forming position based on the image writing position after correction, and image forming on other sheets of paper after the sheet of paper that was set in advance is performed at the image forming position based on the image writing position after correction.

The link member has a stretchable length and is provided with a resilient biasing member biasing the link member in such a direction as to stretch the length. When the external member is in its closed position, the internal member is positioned to abut a predetermined contact portion by the biasing force of the resilient biasing member.     摘要: An image forming apparatus including a sheet conveying apparatus. When a sheet is jammed in a first conveying path, a first unit is pulled out in a direction substantially parallel to a first conveying path. In this way, a driven roller and a driving roller are separated from each other, and a work space is created. The jammed sheet is thus exposed to the first conveying path. It is therefore easy to put a hand into the work space and remove the sheet. This allows for easy maintenance, and easy operation for removing a sheet retained in the apparatus.

    摘要: When the manual feeder and developer collecting container is attached to the copier body, there is a space which is formed by translating the developer collecting container in the attaching direction (the B-direction) of the developer collecting container, between the developer collecting container and the rear frame. The manual feeder is attached so that part of the manual feeder is disposed in this space. The attached developer collecting container, is arranged out side of a space which is the paths of the manual feeder for movement in the X-direction and in the Y-direction. The attached manual feeder is disposed outside the space which is the path of the developer collecting container. A lever as a shifting element of shifting a pickup feeding element between active and inactive positions resides in a space defined by translating the mid area across the full sheet width of the acceptable maximum size, in the direction of the sheet thickness. The space of the path of the pickup feeding element for movement between the active and inactive positions, is arranged so as to be in contact with the two planes normal to the direction of the sheet thickness, and the lever resides within this space. This lever is extended to a space defined by translating a boundary area of the full sheet width of the acceptable maximum size in the direction of the sheet thickness so that the extended portion is coupled to a pickup solenoid as the movement drive source for the pickup feeder.
