摘要： Spring jacks are supported for vertical movement in the grooves of the needle cylinder below the needles and select the needles for the control cam to move from the welting position to the knitting or tucking position and to return the needle to the welting position. Jack actuating cams move the spring jacks upwardly to move the needles into operative position with respect to the control cam. The spring jacks are resilient and deflect from an active position to an inactive position out of operative association with an actuating cam. A pattern mechanism selects individual spring jacks in accordance with a predetermined pattern. A selector jack is mounted in each groove in the needle cylinder below the spring jack for limited inward and outward movement and an upper end portion engages a lower end portion of the spring jack. A stack of selector slides operate with the pattern mechanism and each of the selector slides is mounted for individual movement from inactive positions to active positions. Inner end portions are positioned in the path of the selector jacks as they move with the needle cylinder when the slides are in their active position and have an inwardly inclined portion for moving the selector slides inwardly. A horizontal portion maintains the selector jacks in the innermost position for a predetermined time interval. An outwardly inclined portion controls outward movement of the selector jacks and the return of the spring jacks to their active positions.

摘要： An individual yarn clamping and cutting device is provided for each yarn guide and is moved to an open position in response to movement of the yarn guide from active to inactive position. The yarn clamping and cutting devices are moved to a closed position by cam means carried by the rotating needle cylinder. A yarn guide shifting cam is provided for imparting a slight amount of downward movement to the yarn guides to shift the same from a first upper active position to a second slightly lower active yarn feeding position during introduction of the yarn to reduce the tension in the yarn as the needles begin to knit and to aid in preventing yarn breakage. The yarn guides are mounted to facilitate individual threading of the yarn guides and are mounted for outward tilting movement of their upper ends to a readily accessible threading position while the remaining yarn guides remain in the normal operating position.

摘要： A circular interlock knitting machine of the interlock butting type including jacquard knitting includes a rotating cylinder having cylinder needles movable between welt, tuck and knit positions, dial needles movable between welt and knit positions along paths of travel which intersect the paths of the cylinder needles, and a needle selection and operating mechanism for the cylinder needles which prevents collision between cylinder and dial needles including an intermediate jack beneath each cylinder needle, a lower jack beneath each intermediate jack, the lower jacks being selectively movable between operative and non-operative positions, lower jack raising cam means for raising the lower jacks in the operative position from the bottom position to the welt position, intermediate jack raising cam means selectively movable between operating and non-operating positions for engaging, when in operating position, and raising from the welt position to the tuck position only those intermediate jacks raised by the selected lower jacks beneath cylinder needles which will not collide with dial needles being moved to the knit position.
