摘要:
Accurate control of the tension of a wire electrode in a wirecut electrical discharge machine is achieved by eliminating a direct-current (DC) component from a speed difference signal between a braking section and a recovery section of the machine. The DC component of the speed signal which is eliminated is associated with the stretching of the wire electrode while under tension. As a result, the tension can be maintained constant dynamically as well as statically, thereby improving machining accuracy.

The wire cut electric discharge machining apparatus includes a tension applying device for tensing a wire electrode, an instruction signal generating device for providing a movement instruction and a tension instruction for a wire electrode, the speed detecting device for detecting an actual speed of the wire electrode, comparison circuitry for comparing the actual speed detected by the speed detecting device with an instructed speed of the movement instruction provided by the instruction signal generating device and the instruction value correcting device for correcting the tension instruction value which is provided by the instruction signal generating device according to a result of comparison of the comparison device. Hence, in the wire cut electric discharge machining apparatus, the tension of the wire electrode can be controlled with high accuracy.
摘要:
A core removing device for a wirecut electrical discharge machine having top and bottom universal movement tables that control the orientation of respective top and bottom guides, each guide being located generally within a nozzle which is surrounded by permanent magnet or an electromagnet. The guides and nozzles are disposed on opposite sides of a workpiece and guide a wire electrode that is used to perform an EDM operation as it travels along a cross section of the workpiece during machining. The relative orientation of the top and bottom guides will determine the angle at which the workpiece is cut and the shape of the remaining core. Upon completion of the machining operation, the core may be removed from the top surface or bottom surface of the workpiece by proper positioning of the guide nozzle and the controlled energization of the respective magnet, in the case of electromagnets, to attract and hold the core.

A method and apparatus for wire-cut electrical discharge machining which allows bridging members for securing a core to a workpiece after cutting to be fitted, without interference with adjacent cores, to ensure efficient machining when multiple cores are to be removed from a single workpiece. The disclosed procedure permits machining which can automatically avoid interference of bridging members with an upper nozzle and can automatically perform efficient machining up to finishing.

In a method of positioning a wire electrode and a workpiece relative to each other in a wire cut electric discharge machine, the wire electrode is stopped under tension, the wire electrode and the workpiece are moved relative to each other, and when the wire electrode and the workpiece are brought into contact with each other, the relative movement is stopped to detect the relative position of the wire electrode and the workpiece, whereby the wire electrode and the workpiece can be positioned relative to each other with high accuracy and reproducibility.
摘要:
A wire electrodischarge machine comprises a cross table on which a workpiece is mounted and which is driven in a horizontal plane. In X and Y directions, upper and lower dielectric fluid nozzles which are disposed above and below the workpiece, a nozzle drive device for driving one of the upper and lower nozzles within a horizontal plane, in U and V directions, in order to conduct taper machining, and a verical shaft for supporting the nozzle drive device and the above-mentioned one of the upper and lower nozzles. The axis of the nozzle which is driven by the nozzle drive device is disposed, even during the taper machining, within the area defined by the periphery of the vertical shaft at which the vertical shaft is supported such that it can slide vertically.
