摘要： A printing apparatus which can improve a print throughput in consideration of a color processing mode suitable for print data is provided. 摘要： When an original image is to be printed as a poster composed of an array of 4×4 output images, an image is generated by enlarging the original image fourfold in the vertical and horizontal directions and dividing the enlarged image into 16 parts. These 16 partial images are output successively starting from the upper left or lower right of the 4×4 array, depending upon the designation. If there is a blank page, the blank page is output as is even if the printer possesses a blank-paper economizing function. Thus, when a poster printing function is used, the user designates the manner in which the enlarged image is divided up and the order in which the divided images are printed. Even if the printer is equipped with the blank-paper economizing function, normal printed results can be obtained merely by joining the output sheets together in the order that conforms to the manner in which the enlarged image was divided.

The local ID is acquired, and then a resource file corresponding to the local ID is acquired. The resource file stores control data of the peripheral device, which changes in correspondence with environment data. Based on the control data, setting of the peripheral device is performed. The local ID is stored so that the local ID can be used in the subsequent processing.

摘要： Provided are a print layout device, a print layout method and a storage medium therefor with which all data can always be printed by ensuring that data to be printed do not extend out beyond the limits of a printable area, as may occur when the conventional margin setting process is used, with which a margin can be set by employing an additional special print method, such as an N-up print method, and with which a binding margin can be set for bookbinding. In addition, provided is a configuration for implementing those apparatuses and devices without modifying the conventional portions. A host computer comprises a despooler, which calculates a printable area using margin parameters set by a user, enlarges/reduces print data in consonance with the obtained printable area, performs a layout for the resultant data to be printed and margins on a sheet, and prints the data using that layout. The despooler outputs prepared drawing data to a graphic engine to provide a printer driver in a conventional manner.

摘要： A quotient (rounding up at one decimal place) obtained by dividing a user-designated number UNum of copies by a limit number PNum of copies unique to a printer is set as a number J of print jobs. PNum copies of print data obtained by one despool operation are printed. After printing of the PNum copies is performed (J−1) times, the number of copies for the final job (Jth job) is calculated. Since PNum×(J−1) copies have already been output at that time, N copies as the remainder of division of UNum by PNum suffice to be printed by the final job. Hence, the N copies are printed as the number of copies for the Jth print job, and printing is complete. This makes it possible to print the user-designated number of copies regardless of the printer limitation.

摘要： This invention relates to a printing device control method capable of outputting data while inserting separation paper between OHP sheets when it is undesirable for OHP sheets or the like that output results overlap each other. When an output order flag representing the printing order is set, and a separation printing function is set, the output order flag value is checked (S603). For backward printing, separation page output processing (S606) is performed before page data spool processing (S607). For forward printing, page data spool processing (S604) is performed before separation page output processing (S605). This makes it possible to normally output separation paper regardless of the printing order. When a printing device has a blank paper saving function, and printing on separation sheet is set off, the blank paper saving function can be invalidated to normally output separation paper.
