摘要: The purpose of the invention is to provide a disk driver which makes it easy for users to set the settings. In a device driver which operates in the computer and has a function where each item of the device is set, when the arrangement information stored in the memory corresponding to a user is read in, the screen shows a display in accordance with it. In the arrangement settings, the user can freely arrange each of the setting items on the screen. Then the arrangement information is maintained in the computer together with the user information.

摘要: In a web-based imaging environment, a user selects the duplex printing option and elects to print. A destination service representing a printer then retrieves in order and prints the first sides of the user's image data, then issues a request to reload the copies. The destination service displays in the user's browser instructions specific to the selected printer for manually reloading the copies in a proper orientation for second side printing using the selected printer. After reloading, the user indicates that the pages have been reloaded, and the second sides of user's image data are retrieved in order and printed onto the non-printed surfaces opposite the first sides. In some variations, the printer provides status displays that first (second) sides are printing and/or indicates when the job is complete. Embodiments provide means of performing manual duplex printing by interacting with a printer through platform independent web-based imaging.

摘要: A system and corresponding method for selecting an appropriate printer or printers from among printers connected to a network to improve printing efficiency is provided. Upon receipt of a print command, a print data generation system issues a temporary print request to at least one of the printers, which in response issue acceptance information to the print data generation system. The print data generation system then issues a print processing information request to obtain print processing information from the printers. The print data generation system then selects a printer or printer based on the print processing information, and generates print data for printing by the selected printer or printers.

摘要: Systems and methods analyze the performance of a mechanical system having two identical rotating members therein. Light is directed from two identical light sources to intercept encoded portions of the rotating members. A portion of the light is reflected from the encoded portions of each rotating member. The reflected portion of the light can be then detected to recover performance data maintained therein, wherein the performance data contains performance characteristics of the mechanical system. A reflected portion of the light can be detected to recover performance data. The light sources can be configured as Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSEL). The encoded portions of rotating members thereof can include a bar code. Images from a first encoded surface may interact with an image from a second encoded surface after the light beams are reflected off the first and second rotating surfaces to produce Moirè fringes.

摘要: An image forming apparatus capable of printing a plurality of paginated original image information on a single paper sheet. The apparatus includes an image data generating device for generating, based on the original image information, integrated image data to be integrated into a single page. The image data generating device includes a division designating section for designating any one of images represented by the original image information as an image indicative of a division between chapters. The image designated by the division designating section is arranged in a particular image region in an integrated image page. The apparatus can therefore implement an integrated copy plus division mode not available with conventional image forming apparatuses. An image processing apparatus includes the above image forming apparatus.

摘要: Input gray-scale bit map information is inputted to an image forming position extracting unit for extracting image forming position information. An input computer-formed image is inputted to an image forming position extracting unit for generating an image forming position. At an image forming position overlapping unit, two image forming positions are overlapped with each other, and the composed image forming position is sent to a pixel value calculating unit and an image forming position determining unit. The image value calculating unit measures a width of the composed image forming position and converts the measured value into a pixel value. The image forming position determining unit calculates a barycenter of the composed image forming position. The pixel value and the barycenter are sent as image information. Encoding without distortion can be executed by enhancing the precision of the barycenter.

摘要: A digital camera containing patient images is connected to an uploader computer and the patient's name or history is entered into the uploader computer. The uploader computer then connects to the Internet, connects to the secure host server, uploads the images to the host server and shuts down the Internet connection. After the physician selects a medical facility and the system verifies the physician's user I.D. and password, the host server constructs an HTML web page which includes a list of patients whose images were previously uploaded by the medical facility and are available for viewing. The physician simply selects the name of a patient and the host server displays the patient information and images on the physician's computer. The system is password-protected at all levels and the operator for each medical facility determines who may have access to the medical facility images.

摘要: A system and method for controlling a print job in a printer, such as canceling the print job held in the printer. The system includes a printer having a processor that receives print jobs, including one or more print data swaths, from one or more host computers, and each print data swath includes at least a predefined group of characters. The system also has at least one host computer in communication with the printer and which selectively sends print jobs including print data and/or command data. The host computer further selectively sends a command which is a predetermined group of characters within the print data swath, and the command alters a function in the printer. The command is preferably a series of identical characters, such as NULL characters, and the command preferably causes the printer to enter a command mode to execute the commanded function. The inventive method of controlling print jobs includes the steps of sending a print job having one or more print data swaths from the host computer to the printer, sending a command embedded in a print data swath from the host computer to the printer, and altering a function of the printer with respect to the print job based upon the command received. The method preferably further includes the step of sending a message from the printer to the host computer once the function in the printer has been altered, such as the print job being purged, and to request the host computer to cease sending characters which comprise the command.

摘要: There are provided an electronic payment system using a multifunctional prepaid card which is commonly used in payment for use of services and purchase of goods, and a method of selling the multifunctional prepaid card. The electronic payment system includes a multifunctional prepaid card having a predetermined Personal Identification Number (PIN), shopping/service providing means for providing services and goods to a user of the multifunctional prepaid card and requesting the PIN of the multifunctional prepaid card for payment, and a prepaid card management system for managing state/balance information for PIN for the multifunctional prepaid card on a database, making a settlement by referring to the balance amount of the corresponding PIN if payment for a specific PIN is requested by the shopping/service providing means, and updating the settlement result on the database. Thus, according to the electronic payment system, a single multifunctional prepaid card can be comprehensively used in payment for use of various services and for purchases of goods.
