The sheet conveyor includes the open and close device, and the open and close portion includes a conveyor to convey a sheet. The image forming apparatus includes the sheet conveyor.

摘要: A cooling device includes a cooling member to absorb heat from a conveyed sheet and a plurality of cooling units to cool the cooling member. Each of the cooling units includes a coolant channel through which a coolant flows and a liquid-cooling device configured to cool the coolant that flows in the coolant channel. The coolant channels are disposed on or inside the cooling member and arranged side by side in a sheet conveyance direction. The coolant channels includes a downstream coolant channel being downstream from at least one of the plurality of coolant channels in the sheet conveyance direction, and an upstream coolant channel being upstream from the downstream coolant channel in the sheet conveyance direction. One of the liquid-cooling devices coupled to the downstream coolant channel has a cooling capacity higher than a cooling capacity of another of the liquid-cooling devices coupled to the upstream coolant channel.

摘要: A fixing device includes an elastic rotator and a cooler disposed opposite the rotator to cool the rotator with cooling air. A mover contacts and moves the rotator to a first position where the rotator is disposed opposite the cooler with an increased first interval therebetween and a second position where the rotator is disposed opposite the cooler with a decreased second interval therebetween. 摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an oil input device and a fixing device including a fixing member, a pressing member, and an oil applier. In the oil applier, an oil application member applies oil supplied from an oil supply mechanism to one of the fixing member and the pressing member. In the oil supply mechanism, an oil supply member provided adjacent to an oil storage member supplies oil sent from the oil storage member to the oil application member. When the fixing device is reattached to the image forming apparatus after the fixing device is detached from the image forming apparatus, oil sent from the oil input device through an oil inlet overflows the oil storage member, and is supplied to one of the oil supply member and the oil application member provided adjacent to the oil storage member before an image forming operation starts.

摘要: A fixing device includes a fixing belt that is endless and rotatable in a rotation direction and a nip former stretching the fixing belt and including an elastic layer as a surface layer. A pressure rotator presses against the nip former via the fixing belt to form a fixing nip between the fixing belt and the pressure rotator, through which a recording medium is conveyed. A presser is disposed downstream from an exit of the fixing nip in a recording medium conveyance direction. The presser brings the fixing belt into contact with the pressure rotator.
