摘要:
There is provided an image forming apparatus comprising: a readout sensor for reading out an original which is illuminated by a light source; a converter for converting image information which is read out by the readout sensor to a binary signal; printing heads for recording the image information on a recording paper in response to an output of the converter; and a driver for relatively carrying the readout sensor with regard to the original or recording paper. A plurality of sets of those readout sensors, converters and printing heads are arranged in a line on the same substrate. An amount of scan movement of this apparatus is detected and the driving operations of the light source and the image readout sensor or printing head are synchronized for every unit moving amount, so that occurrence of variation in concentration of the reproduced image and a risk of fire can be prevented. Also, a remarkable energy saving effect can be obtained in case of driving the apparatus by a battery.

A sheet original feeding apparatus comprises a sheet original stacking tray on which sheet originals to be treated are stacked as an original stack. A sheet original separator separates and supplies the sheet original one by one from the bottom of the original stack stacked on the sheet original stacking tray. A sheet original feeding path is provided for directing the sheet original separated by the sheet original separator. A sheet original feeder feeds in a forward direction the sheet original directed by the original feeding path to an image reading portion. The sheet original feeding means is also operable in a reverse direction, and the sheet original feeding path is arranged at one side of the sheet original feeder. A first sheet original ejecting path is further provided for returning the sheet original fed in the reverse direction by the sheet original feeder to the sheet original stacking tray from a same side of the sheet original feeder as the sheet original feeding path. A second sheet original ejecting path returns the sheet original fed in the forward direction by the sheet original feeder to the sheet original stacking tray. The second sheet original ejection path is arranged at a side opposite to the sheet original feeder means as the sheet original feeding path.

A printer includes an ink jet head, a recovery unit, a moving unit, a conveying unit and a cover. The ink jet head performs printing on a printing medium and has an ink ejection port on an ejection port forming surface. The recovery unit is used for a recovery process for maintaining an ink ejection state of the ink jet head in a good condition. The recovery unit includes a cap for covering the ejection port forming surface, a wiping member for wiping the ejection port forming surface, and an absorbing member for receiving ink ejected from the ejection port of the ink jet head. The moving unit moves the recovery unit to a position where the recovery unit faces the ink jet head and to a position where the recovery unit does not face the ink jet head, the ejection forming surface of which is oriented toward the printing medium. The conveying unit conveys the printing medium to be printed by the ink jet head. The cover contains the ink jet head and the recovery unit. The cover is arranged to be opened so that a conveying path of the conveying unit appears and to be closed to cover the conveying path.

A sheet sorting apparatus with a stapler, includes a plurality of bin trays, bin tray shifting device for moving the plurality of the bin trays stepwisely substantially in the vertical direction to oppose the respective bin trays to a sheet inlet of the sorting apparatus, while expanding the clearance between the bin tray opposed to the sheet inlet and an upper adjacent bin tray to provide a larger clearance than the predetermined clearances, a shaft extending substantially perpendicularly to the extension of the inclined sheet receiving surface, and a stapler, supported rotatably about the shaft and having a stapling head movable to above the sheet receiving surface in a lateral direction by rotation about the shaft and an anvil movable to below the sheet receiving surface by the rotation, for stapling the sheets interposed between the stapling head and the anvil, wherein the bin trays are so disposed that between those ends of adjacent ones of the bin trays which are closer to the sheet inlet are deviated when seen in a direction substantially perpendicular to the sheet receiving surface, and wherein the stapling head is laterally moved using a space provided by the deviation, and wherein the expanded clearance is smaller than a height of the stapling head.

In an oxygen concentration detector which comprises an oxygen ion-conducting solid electrolyte, a pair of electrodes, provided on both sides of the solid electrolyte, as counterposed against each other, at least one of the electrodes being exposed to a sample gas, an oxygen ion-conducting diffusion-resistant layer, provided on the electrode exposed to the sample gas and having a predetermined porosity thereby to promote the diffusion of the sample gas, the present oxygen concentration detector is characterized by an electrically insulating porous layer, made of an electrically insulating material, provided between the electrode exposed to the sample gas and the diffusion-resistant layer and having a lower porosity than that of the diffusion-resistant layer and can accurately detect an oxygen concentration of the sample gas with current-voltage characteristics free from hysteresis.
