摘要： A camera has an exposure device for effecting a photographing operation on a film in response to manipulation of a member, and a self-timer for causing the exposure device to effect the photographing operation after the counting of a predetermined time. The self-timer has a first state for causing the exposure device to effect the photographing operation only once and a second state for causing the exposure device to effect the photographing operation plural times. The camera comprises a first display for indicating that the self-timer is in an operable state, a second display for indicating that the exposure device functions plural times in response to the manipulation of the member, independently of the self-timer, and a control device for controlling the first and second displays. The control device is adapted to only activate the first display in the first state of the self-timer and to activate both the first and second display in the second state of the self-timer.

摘要： A display apparatus in a camera for displaying photographic information using rotating elements. The display apparatus includes a rotating setting dial to rotatively set photographic information, and a display unit including pointers and pointer scales to display the photographic information set by the rotating setting dial. The pointer rotates about a fixed pointer scale in order to indicate photographic information on the pointer scale as set by the rotating setting dial. The display apparatus further includes a detector to detect a direction of rotation of the rotating setting dial, a drive unit to rotate the pointer, and a control unit to control the drive unit to rotate the pointer in the same direction as the direction of the rotating setting dial detected by the detector. In addition, the display unit may include at least one pointer which is controlled by a stepping motor to rotate the pointer in only one direction, regardless of the direction of rotation of the rotating setting dial.

摘要： A display device of a camera automatically switches from a date display mode to a time display mode for a predetermined amount of time in a case when the photographer inputs exposure correction information, such as geographic area information, which involves a correction to account for time change with no change of data. The photographer may thus readily confirm that the time change correction has been made. The order of arrangement of the month, day, and year in the date display mode may be selected automatically according to the geographic area to conform with prevailing custom. The device may incorporate a correction feature to account for daylight saving time and may display a correction code corresponding to the geographic area and a mark indicating that daylight saving time has been selected.

摘要： A camera display device includes a display unit which is selectively illuminated during camera operation. The display unit displays information to the photographer such as photometry and rangefinding information. A mode selector switch selects a camera operating mode from a plurality of operating modes and a camera instruction unit outputs an illumination instruction to an illumination light to thereby illuminate the display unit. A timer determines a time period for illumination of the display unit while a control unit continues the illumination of the display unit during a predetermined continuation time period in response to the illumination instruction from the camera instruction unit. The control unit also continues the illumination of the display unit until an end of the camera operating mode selected by the mode selector switch. The operating mode selected by the mode selector switch includes a long exposure mode which continues an exposure longer than the predetermined time of the illumination continuation unit, a bulb exposure mode which continues an exposure for a predetermined period of time beginning from the receipt of a signal from a camera release member, and a time exposure mode which continues an exposure for a predetermined period of time beginning from the receipt of a signal from the camera release member.
