This system is applied to a VAS having, as members, apparel makers which manage goods using apparel numbers and retail shops which manage goods using shop goods codes. The system tally manages the goods of all the members using unity codes. The apparel numbers are corrected as needed, and the corrected apparel numbers are incorporated in a unity code system. A code conversion table representing a correspondence between the unity code and the apparel number or the shop goods code is prepared. When this code conversion table is looked up, a management code is converted between the apparel number, the shop goods code, and the unity code, all of which represent the same goods.

A detecting means detects the suspected anomalous shadows occurring within the temporal subtraction image that has been subjected to an artifact-suppressing morphology process.

A global position matching means that globally matches the positions of the entirety of two inputted images that have been obtained of the same subject, and a local position matching means that locally matches the positions of the two images that have been globally matched by the global position matching means are provided. The global position matching means has a function for performing a bone tissue structure global position matching process and a function for performing a non-bone tissue structure global position matching process. One of these two functions is selected and the global position matching is performed.

Since registration of the case images to the database is controlled according to degrees of similarity of the amounts of feature, it is possible to prevent a lot of similar case images from being included in the search result. Thus, it is possible to reduce possibility of representing a similar search result which may interfere with an accurate diagnosis by a diagnostician.

In comparative image reading of projection images representing an observation target in two three-dimensional images of the same subject photographed at different times, alignment accuracy can be improved between the projection images and artifacts in subtraction images can be suppressed. In each of the three-dimensional images, pixels in a region specified by a cross section perpendicular to an observation direction and a thickness are projected, and the projection images are generated by repeating the procedure while moving a position of the cross section in the observation direction. Alignment processing and subtraction image generation is carried out between the corresponding projection images, and a superposed subtraction image is generated by superposing the generated subtraction images. Consequently, an effect of three-dimensional body movement of the subject at the time of photography can be suppressed than a projection image generated by projecting the entire observation target.
