    Abstract: A connector has an insulative housing, a plurality of terminals and a metal shell. The insulative housing has a base and a tongue formed on the base. The terminals are mounted in the insulative housing. The metal shell covers the insulative housing and has a top, a space and a plurality of fastening tabs. The fastening tabs are formed on the top of the metal shell and extend from the top into the space to tightly press against a plug connector. Each fastening tab has two connecting ends, a first section and a second section. The connecting ends are connected to the top of the metal shell. With the connecting ends connected to the metal shell instead of free ends, the fastening tabs would not inadvertently extend out of the metal shell.

    Abstract: A terminal has a soldering portion, a body portion, a resilient arm portion, a first fulcrum and a pivot boss. The body portion is formed on the soldering portion. The resilient arm portion is formed on the body portion, is capable of pivoting and has a proximal end, a distal contacting portion and a distal section. The first fulcrum is defined between the body portion and the resilient arm portion and allows the resilient arm portion to pivot around the first fulcrum. The pivot boss serves as a second fulcrum, is formed on the resilient arm portion between the proximal end and the distal contacting portion, is adjacent to the distal section and selectively pivots the distal section. With the pivot boss, the terminal presents excellent resilient force.

    Abstract: A connector has an insulative housing, a plurality of terminals, switch terminal and a metal shell. The insulative housing has a base and a tongue. The base has a slit and an open slot communicating with the slit. The terminals are mounted in the base and the tongue of the tongue. The switch terminal is mounted in the slit and the open slot and has a mounting section, a contacting section and a soldering section. The mounting section is mounted securely in the slit. The contacting is mounted movably in the open slot. The metal shell covers the insulative housing. With the switch terminal, the connector is capable of activating and deactivating a circuit on a PCB for signal and power transmission depending whether a corresponding plug connector plugged into the connector.

    Abstract: A memory card connector for a first memory card or a second memory card has an insulative housing, a terminal set and a shell. The insulative housing has a first space for the first memory card and a second space for the second memory card. The terminal set is mounted in the insulative housing and has plural terminals and at least two auxiliary terminals. Each auxiliary terminal has an engagement portion preventing a short circuit due to a wrong contact of the auxiliary terminal and the second memory. The memory card connector has only one terminal set, therefore is compact and has a low cost.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a memory card connector with a latching mechanism, it is to dispose the latching mechanism in the rotary slide memory card connector to limit the horizontal displacement of the metal shell of the memory card connector so as to secure and prevent the metal shell from shifting to a rotating position. The latching mechanism is consisted of an elastic clipping member on the metal shell and a fastening member arranged on the insulative housing, the elastic clipping member has a convex portion and the fastening member has a limiting portion relative to the elastic clipping member. After the convex portion is shifted horizontally across the limiting portion, the limiting portion thus will limit the horizontal shift of the metal shell, and the metal shell will be retained on the limiting portion within a definite pressure scope, so as to secure the connecting stability of the memory card connector.
