Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a method for identifying an earbud wearing error. An earbud wearing action is detected based on a sensor of an earbud (for example, an acceleration sensor, a gyroscope sensor, or a magnetic field detection sensor), and an electronic device may determine, based on the earbud wearing action, whether a left bud and a right bud are incorrectly worn. Once it is determined that the left bud and the right bud are incorrectly worn, the electronic device may output prompt information by using a screen, to prompt a user that the left bud and the right bud are incorrectly worn. When the left bud and the right bud are incorrectly worn, the electronic device may further switch between a left-ear mode and a right-ear mode.
