Abstract: A network traffic monitoring method includes: collecting sampled packet data of a switch wherein the sampled packet data relates to a plurality of types of packets, selecting a first type of packets from the plurality of types of packets, controlling the switch to collect traffic data of the first type of packets, and estimating a traffic volume of each of the plurality of types of packets according to the traffic data and the sampled packet data.
