摘要: The present invention relates to methods and kits for testing the genotoxicity of an agent. In particular, the present invention provides a global assay for the measurement of genotoxic stress based on p53 target gene induction. In particular, the present invention relates to a method for testing the genotoxicity of an agent comprising the steps consisting of i) providing a population of test cells, ii) exposing the populations of test cells with the agent to be tested, iii) determining the expression level of at least one p53 target gene selected from the group consisting of ATF3, BBC3, CABYR, C10ORF10; EMX1; FHL2, GLS2; GRHL3; HES2; IGF-BP4; KIAA0284; PODXL1; RRAD; TP53I3, and XPC in the population of test cells exposed to the agent to be tested iv) comparing the expression level determined at step iii) with the expression level determined when the population of test cells was not exposed to the agent to be tested, and v) concluding that the agent is genotoxic when the expression level determined at step iii) is higher than the level determined when the population of test cells was not exposed to the agent to be tested.
