    摘要： An object of the invention is to arrange so that the digital signal transmission between specific equipments connected with each other by the transmission line of a fixed standard can be performed securely and satisfactorily.When a digital signal destination is caused to receive a fixed digital signal sent out of a digital signal sender, the digital signal destination acquires at the request of the destination from the digital signal sender data on modes in which the digital signal sender is able to send out the digital signal, and a transmission mode of the digital signal is caused to be set by a command based on the acquired mode data from the digital signal destination. Moreover, when a digital signal destination is caused to receive a fixed digital signal sent out of a digital signal sender, a flag is added to the digital signal sent out of the digital signal sender, which indicates that the transmission rate is being adjusted based on the command from the digital signal destination.

    摘要： In a network of an IEEE 1394 system or the like, a data transmission rate can be properly controlled by an apparatus to receive the transmitted data. An apparatus for transmitting data is set as a first apparatus and each of one or more apparatus for receiving the transmitted data from the first apparatus is set as an external apparatus. The number of the external apparatuses to which the data are to be transmitted is indicated. A transmission speed is varied upon receipt of a control command from one of the external apparatuses to which a control right is given. The control right is returned when the control command is not given from the external apparatuses to which the data are transmitted for a predetermined period of time. The control right is returned to the first apparatus if there are a plurality of apparatuses to receive the data from the first apparatus.

    摘要： Disclosed herein are a processing method and a processing apparatus for processing a plurality of files stored on a storage medium. The processing method comprises the steps of: retrieving from the storage medium management data used to manage the files stored on the storage medium; storing the retrieved management data in association with information representing selection status, in terms of processing, of each of the files managed by use of the management data; displaying on a display device the management data and the information representing the selection status in association with the management data; giving an indication, on the display device, to one of items constituting the displayed information about the files, the indication indicating that the file denoted by the information item is an object of operation apart from the other files; and if a predetermined operation is detected, then causing the selection status of the other files to coincide with the selection status of the file indicated as the object of operation.
