    摘要： This invention relates to a flat panel display device that is adaptive for optimizing data, which are to be displayed in a panel defect area, in used of a compensation value of a compensation circuit as well as compensating defect pixels by a repair process, and a method of controlling a picture quality thereof. A flat panel display device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a display panel; a memory which stores a first compensation data, a second compensation data and a third compensation data; a first compensation part; a second compensation part; a third compensation part; and a driver for driving the display panel in use of the data modulated by the first to third compensation parts.

    摘要： A flat panel display device includes a display panel having at least one link pixel which has a non-defect area and a panel defect area and where adjacent pixels are linked to each other; a memory which stores a first compensation data for compensating the data which are to be displayed in the panel defect area, a second compensation data for compensating the data of a bordering part between the panel defect area and the non-defect area, and a third compensation data for compensating the data which are to be displayed in the link pixel. The first compensation data is adjusted through at spatial dispersion or temporal dispersion; the data that are to be displayed in a fixed area inclusive of the boundary are adjusted by dispersing the second compensation data to the fixed area inclusive of the boundary; the data that are to be displayed in the link pixel are adjusted to the third compensation data.

    摘要： A flat panel display, a fabricating method thereof, a fabricating apparatus thereof, a picture quality controlling method thereof and a picture quality controlling apparatus for reducing a recognizing degree of a defective pixel and electrically compensating a charging characteristics of the defective pixel are provided.In the flat panel display, a display panel has a plurality of pixels. A defective pixel is electrically connected to an adjacent normal pixel. A memory stores a location data that indicates a location of the link pixel and a compensation data that compensates for charging characteristics of the link pixel. A compensation circuit modulates a digital video data to be displayed on the link pixel on the basis of the location data and the compensation data.

    摘要： A flat panel display device may improve picture quality by compensating a panel defect by use of a circuit and a picture quality controlling method.A flat panel display device includes a display panel. A memory stores a location information and a compensation value for a panel defect location on the display panel. A first converter calculates a brightness and color difference signals from red, green, blue video signals to be displayed in the display panel. The first converter expands the number of data bits of the brightness signal to generate the expanded brightness signal. A compensating part generates a compensated brightness signal by increasing or decreasing the expanded brightness signal of the video signal to be displayed in the panel defect location. A second converter calculates the red, green, blue signals from the color difference signal and the compensated brightness signal, and generates the compensated video signal by reducing the number of bits of the calculated red, green, blue signals. A drive circuit drives the display panel by use of the compensated video signal and the uncompensated video signal.
