Abstract: In one embodiment, an apparatus comprises a processor, wherein the processor is configured to: detect deployment context information for an edge gateway, wherein the deployment context information identifies a deployment environment of the edge gateway based on information from one or more sensors; transmit, via a communications network, the deployment context information for the edge gateway to a gateway management node; receive, via the communications network, a gateway configuration for the edge gateway from the gateway management node; and configure the edge gateway based on the gateway configuration.

Abstract: In embodiments, an apparatus for providing adaptive wireless communication management may include a wireless interference scanner to gather interference data of wireless communications of at least two wireless protocols in free space surrounding the apparatus. The apparatus may further include a communications module, coupled to the wireless interference scanner, to interact with a wireless configuration service provider to send the interference data to, and from which to receive optimal channel settings for, a wireless device to wirelessly communicate at least in part through the free space surrounding the apparatus. The apparatus may further include a channel and frequency configuration module, coupled to the communications module, to configure the wireless device, based, at least in part, on the optimal channel settings.

Abstract: Although Wi-Fi Protected Setup (“WPS”) enables simple establishment of a Wi-Fi connection between an Access Point (“AP”) and a Mobile Station (“MS”), there are difficulties associated with using it on a larger scale, such as the AP being physically inaccessible to the intended user. A method and apparatus for establishing a remote Wi-Fi connection with WPS, wherein a AP is connected to one or more Wi-Fi Connection Request Verifiers (“WCRV”), which allow for connection between a MS and the AP. The WCRVs comprise a display for an access code and a WPS button. To establish a connection, users input into their MSs an access code from the display of the WCRV. As an additional safety measure, users must also press a WPS button on the WCRV. Upon completion of these steps, the AP may establish a Wi-Fi connection and transmit encryption information for same.
