Opportunities may include offers and quotes for services or products which have been provided by one or more potential vendors in response to a request from the vehicle's on-board diagnostic systems or from a user-initiated query. Presentation of such opportunities may include text displays, color displays, graphic images, moving images (e.g. video clips), and/or audio. By coalescing the opportunities prior to presentation to the vehicle operator, user preferences are applied such as filtering and sorting for preferred vendors, price and availability, IVIS presentation capabilities, and conditions of the vehicle are considered such as avoiding presenting distracting object types during high speed vehicle operation.

    摘要: Diagnostic codes from a vehicle or other system in transit are transmitted to an opportunity server, which forwards the codes to a supplemental diagnostic service provider. The diagnostic service provider determines if supplemental diagnostics software functions are available, and if so, downloads them to the vehicle. After executing the supplemental diagnostics, the vehicle reports updated codes to the opportunity server. Multiple cycles of selection, downloading and execution of supplemental diagnostics may be performed until fault isolation is achieved, following which the opportunity server issues requests for bids to potential repair service provides. Responding offers are received, coalesced and presented to the operator. The operator of the vehicle is presented with one or more coalesced offers, upon selection of which, a service is scheduled.
