    Abstract: A safety brake includes a first brake element, a first guide element, and an actuating element. The first brake element is mounted in a displaceable manner in a linear bearing on the first guide element. The first guide element can be moved between a rest position and a braking initial position. The actuating element is designed to move the first guide element from the rest position into the braking initial position, more particularly to activate the safety brake. The first brake element can carry out a braking movement from the braking initial position into a braking position. The braking movement returns the first guide element to the rest position. The first guide element is guided on a first parallelogram guide.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for safety braking for an elevator (1) having an upright guide rail (3). The safety brake device (4) comprises a housing (5) having braking elements (6, 7) which are arranged on both sides of the guide rail (3) and are movable along the guide rail (3), a safety restraint (8) on both sides between the housing (5) and the braking elements (6, 7), and a clampable and lockable actuating device (9) for the braking elements (6, 7), which unlocks and unclamps in response to a triggering event and brings the braking elements (6, 7) into braking engagement with the guide rail (3). The actuating device (9), when it is unclamped, develops a feed force (F) and feed movement directed transversely to the longitudinal axis (15) of the guide rail (3), which brings the braking elements (6, 7) on both sides into engagement with the guide rail (3) from a laterally distanced initial position, wherein the braking elements (6, 7) are entrained by frictional contact on the guide rail (3) and enter the safety restraint (8), and wherein the actuating device (9) is moved back into its initial position and clamped and locked by the braking elements (6, 7) located in the safety restraint (8).

    Abstract: A support unit for the fastening of a diverting roller to a support structure can be used for supporting a car in an elevator installation. The support unit has two yoke beams and a bearing for the diverting roller. The yoke beams are arranged parallel to one another for fastening to the support structure. On the support unit there are at least two restraint devices that are fastened to the yoke beams and which project into the intermediate space between the yoke beams such that, in the event of failure of the bearing, the restraint devices form a stop to prevent the diverting roller from moving in a support direction under the action of the support force.     Abstract: An elevator system includes a first elevator car, a second elevator car, a drive-machine, and a suspension apparatus that passes over a traction sheave of the drive-machine to cause the cars to travel one above the other in a travel space. The suspension apparatus is divided into a first set and a second set. A displacement mechanism fixed in the travel space interacts with the second set between the traction sheave and the second car to vary the distance between the cars. This distance can be adjusted independent of the traction sheave. The displacement mechanism can have a pulley arrangement with a displaceable pulley displaced by a displacement drive to vary a length of a section of the second set between the displacement mechanism and the second car.
