    Abstract: A push-in mechanism pushes articles into a box that is opened sideways. The push-in mechanism is provided with a box standby part, an article placement part, a push-in plate, a horizontal movement mechanism, and a lifting/lowering mechanism. The box standby part causes the boxes to wait. The article placement part has a placement surface on which the articles are temporarily placed. The push-in plate is installed in a standing state so as to have a pressing surface for pressing the articles toward the box. The horizontal movement mechanism causes the push-in plate to reciprocate horizontally above the placement surface so that the push-in plate moves toward the box or moves away from the box. The lifting/lowering mechanism moves the push-in plate so as to change a separation distance in the height direction between a lower edge of the pressing surface and the placement surface.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an article alignment device that can inhibit posture disorderliness when articles land on a conveyor belt. The posture of bags when the bags transfer from an input conveyor to a first aligning conveyor is inclined in such a way that the portions of the bags that land on bags already placed on the first aligning conveyor are higher and the portions of the bags that land directly on the first aligning conveyor are lower, so the bags land on the first aligning conveyor before or at the same time that they contact the bags that were placed on the first aligning conveyor before them. Additionally, the frictional force between the first aligning conveyor and the bags is greater than the frictional force between the bags, so sliding between the bags is prevented, as is posture disorderliness.

    Abstract: An article-transfer apparatus as disclosed herein can maintain the processing capacity of a transport mechanism at a fixed capacity regardless of the capacity at which articles are supplied to the apparatus from upstream thereof. An article-transfer apparatus includes an infeed conveyor, an alignment conveyor, and an article transport unit. The infeed conveyor conveys bags in a first direction.     Abstract: A cardboard box assembly device, that folds four flaps provided at edges of an opening in a cardboard box to surround the opening, is disclosed. The cardboard box assembly device includes a folding unit, a pushing unit, and a drive unit. The folding unit folds each of the four flaps in a prescribed sequence and closes the opening. The pushing unit pushes one of the four flaps, that is folded last, inward into the cardboard box as a locking flap, and overlaps the locking flap onto the other flaps. The drive unit contacts the cardboard box and imparts a prescribed displacement to the cardboard box. Parts that engage with one another are formed between the locking flap and at least one of the other flaps. The drive unit moves the locking flap relative to the other flaps due to the displacement when the pushing unit pushes the locking flap.
