Abstract: An article-transfer apparatus as disclosed herein can maintain the processing capacity of a transport mechanism at a fixed capacity regardless of the capacity at which articles are supplied to the apparatus from upstream thereof. An article-transfer apparatus includes an infeed conveyor, an alignment conveyor, and an article transport unit. The infeed conveyor conveys bags in a first direction. The alignment conveyor lines up in a predetermined state a plurality of the bags fed thereto from the infeed conveyor to form an article group, and simultaneously conveys them in a second direction. The article transport unit transports the article group to a container. A plurality of the article groups are formed on the alignment conveyor.

Abstract: A box packing device includes a push-in mechanism, a retention mechanism, a guide, and a control unit. The push-in mechanism pushes, into a box that is in a state in which an opening thereof faces sideways, the article through the opening. The retention mechanism retains the box that is in a state in which the opening faces sideways and lowers the box after the article have been pushed into the box by the push-in mechanism. The guide opposes the opening and is configured to prevent the article from falling out from the opening of the box that has been lowered by the retention mechanism. The control unit temporarily increases the distance between the box and the guide after the article have been pushed into the box by the push-in mechanism.

Abstract: A box forming apparatus opens a flattened cardboard box forming a tubular cardboard box. A holding mechanism holds a first side panel and a second side panel of the box. A moving mechanism moves front face lower holding members and front face upper holding members. The moving mechanism folds one of the first side panel and the second side panel along a first fold portion thereby changing the angle formed by the first side panel and the second side panel. When the holding mechanism is moved to open the flattened cardboard box, a position adjusting member, adjusts the position of a first flap connected to the first side panel, adjusts the position of the first flap such that the first flap connected to the first side panel extends along the direction in which the first side panel extends or is folded inward so that the flattened cardboard box is opened.

Abstract: A packing apparatus includes a sealing mechanism, a timing sensing section, and a control section. The sealing mechanism affixes tape continuously on portions of a cardboard box transported with major flaps thereof folded. The sealing mechanism includes an affixing roller to press the tape against a first side surface and the major flaps. The timing sensing section senses the timing at which the affixing of the tape on the first side surface is initiated. The control section controls pressing force exerted by the affixing roller, based on a result of the sensing performed by the timing sensing section, in such a way that the pressing force is reduced after the affixing of the tape on the first side surface is initiated.

Abstract: A push-in mechanism pushes articles into a box that is opened sideways. The push-in mechanism is provided with a box standby part, an article placement part, a push-in plate, a horizontal movement mechanism, and a lifting/lowering mechanism. The box standby part causes the boxes to wait. The article placement part has a placement surface on which the articles are temporarily placed. The horizontal movement mechanism causes the push-in plate to reciprocate horizontally above the placement surface so that the push-in plate moves toward the box or moves away from the box. The lifting/lowering mechanism moves the push-in plate so as to change a separation distance in the height direction between a lower edge of the pressing surface and the placement surface.

Abstract: A box moving device is disclosed. The box moving device changes the position of a box having four side surfaces. The box moving device is equipped with a conveyor and a movement control unit. The movement control unit drives the conveyor to cause the box to move from a first position to a second position. The conveyor can alternately switch between a first state, in which it is contracted along a moving direction of the box, and a second state, in which it is extended along the moving direction of the box. The movement control unit causes the box to move from the first position to the second position by driving the conveyor that is in a holding mode in which it holds at least one of the side surfaces of the box and simultaneously switching the conveyor from the first state to the second state.
