Abstract: A portable aerosol-generating device for receiving an aerosol-generating substance, includes a chamber to receive an aerosol-generating substance and an aerosol-generating unit configured to generate an aerosol from the aerosol-generating substance for a user to inhale in use. Abstract: A vapour generating device is arranged to receive solid vapour generating material. The vapour generating device includes a vapour generating chamber which is arranged to contain the solid vapour generating material and a closure for the vapour generating chamber. The closure is arranged to define a first passageway between the exterior of the vapour generating device and the vapour generating chamber when the closure is in a closed position, such that the first passageway allows air to enter the vapour generating chamber.
