The reader holder includes a holder body, a sensing lever adjacent to a kneading drum with one end connected to one end of the holder body and the other end protruding from the main body towards the door, the sensing lever being pushed back by the door when the door is closed, and a reader supporting part extending from the holder body towards the door and supporting the barcode reader. The barcode reader moves into a reading position near the adjacent kneading drum when the door is opened and moves into a releasing position distant from the adjacent kneading drum when the door is closed.

The rotatable roller rotates between a kneading position at which the first kneading roller and the second kneading roller face each other, and a released position at which the second kneading roller is spaced apart from the first kneading roller. A spring has a first end attached to a side wall of the oven compartment and a second end coupled to the rotatable kneader, and elastically returns the rotatable kneader to the kneading position as the door is closed and elastically maintains the rotatable kneader at the released position when the door is opened. A pusher in the door pushes the rotatable kneader from the released position to the kneading position as the door is closed.

A movable tray member has a plurality of combining projections at opposite side walls thereof. A fixed tray member positioned opposite the movable tray member forms a slit through which the mixing bag passes. A tray holder is coupled to each end of the fixed tray member and the movable tray member. Each tray holder fixedly supports the fixed tray member, and has a plurality of guide grooves accommodating the combining projections to rotatably support the movable tray member. Anchoring prominences are on the guide grooves adjacent to the fixed tray member, preventing the combining projections from breaking away from the guide grooves when the movable tray member rotates.

With this configuration, the bread maker and a method of controlling the same, suspends heaters and kneading drums when a door is open while the bread maker operates, thereby increasing safety and decreasing loss of heat and electrical energy.

The bottom of the oven includes a protuberant part that minimizes the effects of an external force.

Further, a pair of tray members is disposed between the upper and lower kneading drums facing each other to form a slit to pass the mixing bag therethrough. The bread maker also includes tray holder members to be combined with opposite ends of a pair of tray members; a pair of guides mounted on inner sidewalls of the oven compartment facing each other to slidably guide the tray holder members by being slidingly combined with the tray holder members; and a shock absorber between the tray holder member and the guide. Accordingly, the shock absorber between the guide and the tray holder member prevents the tray holder member from minute movement while placed in the guide. Consequently, noise occurring due to direct contract of the guides with the tray holder members can be prevented, thereby providing the user with an improved and reliable bread maker.

Thus, when power supply is resumed after the power-interruption time excessively passes, the bread making process is ended, and the mixing bag is easily removed.
