摘要： A vertical toaster comprising a housing, heating elements, a food support and a drive. The heating elements are connected to the housing and comprise at least one calrod. The calrod comprises an electric wire surrounded by heat conductive electrical insulation and a metal cover. The food support is movably mounted to the housing for up and down motion. The drive is for moving the food support relative to the housing. The drive comprises a motor and a linkage between the motor and the food support for moving the food support both down and up such that food on the food support passes by the calrod. The calrod prevents an electrical shock to a user if the user accidentally contacts the calrod with an electrically conductive member.

摘要： A system for supplying air to a discrete space to obtain a desired set point temperature within the space includes a plurality of units for conditioning the air in the space. Each of the units has an independent electric power supply cord for connection to a source of electrical power. One of the units includes a master control and another of said units includes a slave control. The master control includes a user temperature control to establish a desired set point temperature within the discrete space. Each of the units includes its own thermostat for sensing the ambient temperatures in the area of the discrete space immediately adjacent the respective units. Each of the units has its own communication device, which enables the master control on the one unit to simultaneously vary the operation of each of the units in inverse proportion to the sensed ambient temperatures to substantially uniformly condition the temperature of the air in the discrete space.

摘要： A self-threading polymeric fastener and blank therefor which can be used, for example, to support a wall plate over an electrical outlet or switch. The fastener blank comprises three portions, all integrally molded together, including a slotted head, a substantially cylindrical shank and a tapered tip. A helical thread is formed on the shank and tip by deforming the outer surfaces thereof without removing any significant amount of polymeric material therefrom. This is accomplished by rotating the tip and shank in a helically threaded bore, such as that provided in an outlet or switch. The polymeric fastener blank can be integrally molded with a polymeric wall plate to make their colors identical.
