    摘要: An electronic control circuit for use with a heater, a fan, a humidifier or any device utilizing a power mode switch and a condition sensor, the electronic control circuit including a single control switch for controlling both power output and responding to a sensed condition. The electronic circuit includes a microprocessor, preferably in the form of an application-specific integrated circuit to provide the circuit logic. The single control switch is preferably a push-button switch which places the unit in the selected mode of operation. The electronic control circuit also includes a thermistor or humidity sensor to sense conditions and, depending upon the set temperature/humidity by the control switch and the sensed condition the unit will operate accordingly. The unit can also operate in a manual mode, thereby bypassing the sensor operation.

    摘要: A PWM-based controller for controlling a voltage applied to a DC-powered electric heating blanket from a power source includes a square wave producing circuit for connection in the circuit with the battery and the blanket. The square wave producing circuit produces a variable duty cycle square wave for controlling application of power to the blanket in accordance with the duty cycle of the square wave. The square wave producing circuit has a control input for varying the duty cycle of the square wave in response to a voltage at the control input. The voltage at the control input may be set manually using a voltage varying circuit connected to the power source. A low voltage detection circuit may also be connected to the power source and coupled to the control input of the square wave producing circuit for automatically producing a voltage that decreases the duty cycle of the square wave when the battery voltage decreases to or below a predetermined level.

    摘要: A system for compensation of contamination of a heated element in a heated element gas flow system in which the heated element becomes heated from an ambient temperature to an elevated temperature upon the application of electrical power to the heated element during a startup time period. The system includes a processing circuit having an input and an output. A voltage signal from the heated element is connected to the input of the processing circuit. The processing circuit reads a plurality of temporally spaced input signals as data from the processing circuit input during the startup time period. The processing circuit then computes the parameters of a transfer function corresponding to the data on its input. The processing circuit then calculates a contamination correction factor as a function of at least one parameter of the transfer function. The processing circuit then utilizes the correction factor to modify a measured gas flow rate by the gas flow meter after the heated element attains the elevated steady state temperature to compensate for contamination of the heated element.

    摘要: A control system for a cooking appliance enables a consumer to perform a complete cooking operation regardless of whether food is placed into an oven after a preheating operation or from a cold start. In general, under circumstances where the consumer does not intend to allow the oven to be properly preheated prior to inserting the food to be cooked therein, an initial programming operation is followed by an additional control sequence by the user to establish a cold start cooking operation wherein the lack of preheating is automatically compensated for, preferably by causing the oven to reach a peak temperature for the oven which is well above a temperature set by the user for the overall cooking operation. After the peak temperature is reached, the oven temperature is allowed to gradually reduce to the preprogrammed cooking temperature.

    摘要: A power control method and an apparatus for an instant heating roller (IHR) include the following steps and functions: (a) determining whether an external source voltage has a first level or a higher second level; (b) when the source voltage has the first level, supplying the source voltage to the heating resistor at intervals of a predetermined time period until the temperature of the heating resistor reaches a target fusing temperature; and (c) when it is determined that the source voltage has the second level, supplying the source voltage to the heating resistor for every half period of the source voltage until the temperature of the heating resistor reaches the target fusing temperature. As the temperature of the heating resistor approaches the target fusing temperature, the predetermined time period is increased in step (b) and the time period of step (c) is decreased. As a result, the power control method and apparatus stably supply source voltage to the heating resistor of the IHR, and achieve other operational advantages.
