    Abstract: Devices and methods for improved installation of trim, such as trim boards, to a building substrate. An alignment device configured for use with a nail gun is sized and shaped to facilitate repeatable and accurate angled nailing of trim boards at a desired nailing angle and height relative to a building substrate. The alignment device is sized and shaped to stably seat within an angle between a trim board and a building substrate such that a nail gun user can repeatedly drive nails at a regular angle and height through the side of the trim board and into the building substrate to nail the trim board to the building substrate without requiring the user to measure and/or visually determine the height and angle at which the nail will be driven. The alignment device includes a spacing section having a length that determines the spacing between the muzzle of the nail gun and the nail entry point, an entry angle section that determines the angle at which the nail will be driven, and an entry location section that determines the height at which the nail will be driven.

    Abstract: A customizable roof drip edge system includes an inner footing, an outer section, and a tail integrally formed with the inner footing and the outer section. The tail is nailable to a roof substrate. The outer section includes a bridging member connecting the tail to an outer footing. The bridging member and the outer footing are configured for directing the flow of water off of a roof. The inner footing is spaced from the outer footing by a suitable distance and configured to be placed against an eave as a positioning aid such that the drip edge can easily and reliably be installed with sufficient spacing for the installation of a fascia board after installation of the drip edge. The drip edge may be bendable to user-selectable angles between the tail and the inner footing and outer section to accommodate a range of roof pitches.

    Abstract: A corner trim mounting system includes a corner trim fastening bracket having a first arm and a second arm joined at an angle. Each arm includes a plurality of inward-facing outer teeth configured to couple the fastening bracket to a building substrate at an outer corner, and a plurality of outward-facing inner teeth configured to receive trim boards so as to retain the trim boards to form a corner trim. The two sets of inner teeth can be parallel such that the fastening bracket can be driven into two perpendicular trim boards simultaneously. A complementary pressing assembly, including a trim support and a bracket driver, may be provided to facilitate assembly of corner trim using the fastening bracket.

    Abstract: The present application is generally directed to multifunctional flashing devices suitable for installation of lap siding. Flashing devices include a flashing section, a removable supporting section, and one or more alignment features configured to facilitate positioning of the flashing devices adjacent to an installed course of lap siding. The flashing devices may be fastened to a building substrate adjacent to an installed course of lap siding, at locations corresponding to butt joints of an additional course of lap siding. The supporting sections of the flashing devices are configured to retain and support additional cladding elements in position for installation. When the additional cladding elements have been fastened to the building substrate, the supporting section may be removed from the flashing section.
