Abstract: A pivotal sliding bi-fold door structure mounted in a door frame having a track slidably accommodating the bi-fold door structure. The bi-fold door structure comprising at least two door panels pivotally connected by a hinge member. The improvement comprising a bi-fold door safety wedge including a main body structure. A pair of non-parallel edges on opposite sides of the main body structure facing away from each other and extending along the main body structure and nearly intersect to form a vertex at a front portion of the main body structure. Another edge extending between the non-parallel edges at a back portion of the main body structure. An elastic strap for removably elastically securing the main body structure to the hinge member, where the removable elastic securing strap has the characteristic of adjustably positioning the vertex of the main body structure in adjacency with the hinge member when the bi-fold door structure is in an open position. A non-slip surface portion located along the main body structure co-extensive with the pair of non-parallel edges thereby aiding to maintain an operational wedge-stopped position. The removable elastic securing strap further having the characteristic of enabling manual positioning of the main body structure to a non-wedged position adjacent a front side of the door panels thereby enabling the bi-fold door structure to be movable into the fully closed position.

Abstract: A portable building system of variable size (20) consisting of a series of individually collapsing web beam frames (22) which serve simultaneously as a support structure for the exterior covering material (30) and as a support structure for a highly adaptable interior furnishing system. Individual web beam frames (22) are comprised of multiple segments including vertically oriented outer segments (32) which have a width measured horizontally in the plane of their span sufficient to support furnishing components 26 substantially within an area directly between a pair of consecutive outer frame segments 32 in a strong and convenient manner. Additional overhead segments (34) are joined to each other and to outer segments (32) with corresponding mortise (36) and tenon (38) like surfaces for a fast and positive assembly. Purlins (24) attach to the frames, joining them in sequence. Individual bays are formed between the wide vertical outer segments (32) of any two sequential frames (22) and these bays are then easily customized with the desired interior furnishing components (26) such as desks, counters, shelves, benches, bunks, and tables. Horizontal furnishing components (26) may be optionally installed at various heights between the opposing surfaces of the wide outer segments (32) of any two consecutive web beam frames. The furnishing components (26) once installed thereby become integral to the overall structure of the building. The purlins (24) also provide support for optionally used insulating liners (44) which are independent of the primary exterior cover.

Abstract: A portable shelter structure (10) of variable size consisting of an even number of individual, folding, modular units (12) which, in their folded condition, serve as shipping containers for the shelter. Abstract: A system for improving the fuel economy of internal combustion engines comprises a thermostatically controlled heater located in the fuel line between the fuel tank and the carburetor for heating the fuel to a temperature just below its vaporization temperature. This temperature is controlled to result in a more complete vaporization of the fuel upon entering the carburetor. Another part of the system supplies a fuel additive in the form of a xylene/oil mixture into the carburetor by way of the vacuum advance line to add approximately one ounce of the additive mixture to every fifteen to twenty gallons of fuel. Significant fuel economy has been realized along with a cooler exhaust temperature of the combustion products and a reduction in the amount of pollutants in the engine exhaust.

Abstract: A package strapping machine for strapping a package to a pallet, which pallet is usually constructed from lumber and is of standard shape or configuration. The pallet comprises generally a supporting platform for the package with longitudinally parallel extending stringers secured to the underside of the supporting platform. The strapping machine is provided with a strapping station where the package is tied to the pallet and is so constructed that a strap is carried beneath the stringers and through a strap ring including an arch around the package if the pallet is facing in one direction, because a pallet position sensing means, such as a ray of light which is provided at one side of the pallet, cannot pass through the solid stringers to a photo-sensitive device located at the other side of the pallet. However, if the pallet is turned 90.degree. so that the voids between the stringers which extend completely through the pallet structure are positioned 90.degree. from aforementioned position, the ray of light at one end then passes through the void and impinges upon a light-sensitive device at the other end of the pallet. The strap then will not be carried underneath the stringers, but instead a lower track portion of the strap ring will be removed so that a strap conveying sword and a cooperating sword strap corner are moved to extended positions to pass the strap directly beneath the platform and carry the strap around the pallet and the package with the strap contacting the underside of the platform and the package thereon rather than the underside of the stringers. After the strapping operation is completed, the sword and sword corner are retracted and the U-shaped lower track portion is moved into the position to carry the strap beneath the stringers when the next strapping operation is manually started assuming that the light sensitive means cannot be activated.The lower track portion consists of two lower track corners with a horizontal portion connected therebetween, forming a U-shape, the entire lower track assembly being mounted so as to be movable at a 90.degree. angle to the plane of the strap travel. The lower track is preferably moved by a reciprocable compressed air cylinder, as is the sword corner. The sword is preferably moved by a reversable air motor.The electrical circuitry is such that the strapping mode established at the time the pallet is passing the strapping stations, i.e., the "sword" mode or the "lower track" mode, is the mode which will be locked in for that particular cycle. However, if a pallet is passing through the strapping station with the stringers facing in a direction to intercept the light ray to the light sensitive means, which is usually an electric eye, and the strapping operation is manually initiated, the sword mode operation cannot take place. The operation of the horizontal lower track is controlled by an electric circuit including switches and relays. The sword and the cooperating sword corner are positioned to carry the strap between the stringers beneath the pallet-supporting surface and are also controlled by switches and relays which are energized in response to manual initiation but, as stated, are dependent for operation upon energization of a pallet position sensing means such as a light energized electric eye.
