摘要： A device for combatting troublesome flying insects comprising a sloped target area containing a wet or dry dosage of tetrahydro-2-(nitromethylene)-2H-1,3-thiazine lethal to flies and covered with a closely fitting or flush grill; a hollow base section having a bottom and side or sides; a cavity for the containment and concealment of intoxicated flies; and a means of supporting said target area. In the case where the device contains a wet amount of said insecticide, the device further contains a means of establishing fluid contact between the target area and a fluid reservoir in the base section. Also claimed is a method for combatting flies utilizing the devices of the invention.

摘要： A method and apparatus is provided, for separating articles from product boards and transporting the product articles to another processing station or packaging area. Because of the sticky nature of confections which may be handled the product must be scraped from a product board. Articles are separated from product boards on which they rest upon encountering a blade member which acts to wedge the product from a board surface. The boards are ejected from the machine for reuse, while product or confections are moved downstream along a belt take-up transport conveyor for deposit onto product delivery conveyor, whereby product orientation may be accomplished.

摘要： A modular apparatus for cultivating marine animals caged within rearing units submerged in a body of water of the natural environment of the animals includes a row and column structure that floats at the water surface. The apparatus is moored by anchors deployed at the column ends and at position intermediate the column ends. The members of the rows, and optionally the columns, are constructed from substantially rigid tubes, especially plastic, corrugated wall, culvert pipe, filled with a substantially incompressible foam. The row members are releasably attached between adjacent columns in perpendicular orientation to the longitudinal axes of the columns.Each rearing unit is a perforated wall container suspended from a row member by a suspension assembly so as to hang above the water floor. Multiple rearing units can be suspended from each row member. The rearing units contain vertically oriented panels of substrate material, especially sheets of cementitious backer unit.Whole modules including a row member, the suspension assemblies and rearing units suspended thereby from the row member can be deployed and removed from the apparatus as a unit to facilitate the simultaneous cultivation of large numbers of marine animals in segregated compartments. The modular apparatus is particularly useful for growing juvenile abalone in captivity.
